Thing i like most about these threads, there is no way to derail them. The thread itself is like a forum derail. I can change the topic to whatever i want and not feel guilty.
For example: My birthday is on Friday, and i plan on eating LOTS of Pie, and drinking VERY expensive beer. Game Plan: Finish an entire wild blueberry pie, and drink at least $60 worth of beer before midnight.
On a more innocent level, my thread asking for people's opinion on what I ought to a$k should I decide to sell my Superlight, sorta disappeared without comment or a quick PM. I think it would have been nice to know why.
Generally these are seen as thinly veiled I am going to sell PM me threads that circumvent the classified ad system here. If you look at the Guidelines for forum use above in the Quick Links pull down menu you will see:
ADDENDUM: Posting "What's It Worth" type threads may be considered spam and may be deleted at the moderator's discretion. Check our Classifieds section for similar bikes/parts for value.
That is probably why. Get acquainted with the rules.
Edit: whoops didn't see that shiggy got to you first. Well there you go, too much beer not enough reading.
Awwwwww Dang it, i didn't even notice this was already binned untill now.
Anyone know why some are put in the bin, and some are straight up deleted?
Depends on the amount of interest/offending content the thread is generating. So far, I'll say it's been more on the interesting side rather than the offending one. But it could change. Anyways, the bin is like the party room of MTBR. Where the cool kids hang out
