    Guns or Bikes?

If you think about it Guns and Bikes have a lot in common...

They both can be a release from life's frustrations

They both can get you outside breathing in the fresh air

They both are commonly collected by guys with too much $

They both can be traded, and in some cases have greater trade value than Cash!

    So which is better?

I can go ride my bike for almost free (minimal maintenance costs)

Every time I go shooting, its a blast (ha-ha) but I have to go buy more shells for next time.

When the zombies come my guns will be a much better tool than my bike for getting food from the neighbors.

Even better, mount the gun to your bike...

    I like both, but...

I can walk into a store or bank with my bike and nobody will feel threatened.

I can let little kids play with my bike

Zero operational costs with a bike. I can ride for hours and hours on my bike and it will costs me nothing.

I love to ride my bikes more than I like
to shoot my guns. However my guns can
save my life better than my bike can.

Just yesterday I went for a 'ride' just so we could go out into public land and find a place to shoot. Sometimes they go very well together.

Where the heck on public land can you shoot? I know the only time around here you can shoot on public land is one weekend a year for deer hunting.

Pennsylvania has state game lands with public shooting ranges

A lot of WMAs here in Georgia have shooting ranges.

Any where on BLM is fair game. Public land was probably a little vague though.

Can't really see how you can even say the two things have anything in common. It's like comparing an apple to a hostess snowball.

    Used to be guns!
Used to shoot for living @ three months out of the year.

Won world speed shooting competition (steel challenge, stock revolver) five or six years in a row. And the "International revolver championship" four times. With lots of state and regional titles.

All burned out! I do not even shoot any more. It just lost all it's fun when it felt like a job.
Obsessive compulsive practicing and training just burned me out!

Big lesson learned. Now with cycling and racing. I am always aware of getting too serious. Just keeping it fun!

    Both are great sports!

But for me... Bikes all the way👍
    .....the end

I was waiting for someone to say that haha...

It actually started because I was watching Sons of Guns while doing some routine bike maintenance and thought... What If something happened where I needed to either sell off some of the guns or bikes... Which would go first? Not such an easy answer, Kinda like which one of your children would you choose if one had to die first... there's no right answer

Then I've probably seen your name in a magazine.

A few dropped hobbies have taught me to keep my hobbies casual.

I can hit singletrack in one minute from my front door. Getting to a shooting range takes a 30 minute drive. I should get an air gun...

That's kind of funny. I am sorta the same way. I shot competitively for close to 20 years. Shot NRA Highpower, 1000 yard stuff both in service rifle and F class, tactical, combat, 3 gun. I shot on National Guard teams for a dozen years, made the All Guard team a few times, shot on the All Guard International Combat Team (was awarded the TARA 50 badge from the British Army at the Bisley matches), All Army matches. My Distinguished Rifleman Badge is probably the the award that means the most to me of all the hero badges I had on my dress uniform (including all the combat awards).

One day, I just didn't want to do it anymore. Flat burned out. I don't even shoot much anymore. Not anti-gun or anything, and I am still proud of the things I accomplished and still hang with many of the long time friends I used to shoot on teams with. I just have no more desire to shoot.

Bikes are it for me now.

To be honest, I have alot more fun riding my bike than I do going shooting. I still go shooting at least once a month but I dont enjoy it as much. Plus ammunition costs are rediculous (40 cal rounds).
