Black Market signs with X-Fusion; scores at Ray’s 3Ride!
Campbell, CA – 2.14.07 X-Fusion is stoked to announce that Black Market Bikes will be turning tricks on X-Fusion suspension this season. The riders will ride Black Market Mobs relying on X-Fusion’s killer new Velvet R forks for smooth and precise landings.
This past weekend, Black Market riders Carter Holland, Adam Hauck and Phil Sundbaum put X-Fusion’s Velvet R’s to the test at Ray’s 3Ride Pro Invitational in Cleveland, OH. “This was our inaugural outing aboard the X-Fusion Velvet forks and things couldn't have gone much better,” said Carter when he submitted the following report. Adam and Phil absolutely destroyed the park. Adam was seen pulling clean tail whips, pocket airs, pedal to 270 off the tallest sub in the building as well as spinning 3's off the 8' start drop into the jump course, ally oop 360 wall rides over the spine and the best wall ride to whip I've ever seen. Adam finished the weekend third in the Park and Jump events and fifth overall.
Phil shut the park down with moves like a no-foot can-can quarter to quarter air, big tire grab flip on the box, ally-oop wall ride over the spine and 2 of the biggest tricks of the park contest; a fuf a nu on the jersey barrier sub box up in the rafters and perfect 3 whip to pedals over the park box. That was just in the park, when Phil spun a 3 off the start drop to the jump course and cranked full speed the huge Red Bull box, we all new something was coming...but nobody expected a huge 720, which he stomped despite blowing his tire off the rim. Phil sealed the deal, taking home first place finishes in both Park and Jump and third overall for the weekend, he even tried to take home the trophy girl...but he had to give her back.
Carter finished the weekend a respectable 14th overall with a top 10 finish in the super competitive Speed Trials. “I have been a huge fan of Carter’s since I met him several years ago,” said Alex Wheeler, US Marketing Manager for X-Fusion. “He has done an amazing job since he established Black Market Bikes, not only creating killer products that really work, but also the lifestyle that goes with being a dirt jumper and street rider. I can’t think of a better group of riders for us to sponsor for this fast growing discipline of mountain bike competition.”
Black Market’s co-sponsors are Atomlab, Deity Components, e13 Components and Pro-Tec Helmets.
