[SIZE="3"]“Amazingly Fun Bike Race” combines cycling, strategy, and fun focused challenges[/SIZE]
Boulder, Colorado (April 9, 2007) – Adventure Fit, Inc, a sports marketing company that caters to the ‘urban athlete’ today announced that Subaru of America, Inc. will again be the title sponsor the 2007 Urban Assault Race Series. This seven-race series crisscrosses the country bringing a fun, fresh and unique twist to the sport of riding and racing a bicycle. Each metropolitan area race requires physical and mental muscle by combining cycling, strategy, and fun-focused challenges for competitors of all ages.
Teams of two choose a route and race to predetermined checkpoints where they must stop and complete in lively and unorthodox challenges at each stop. Some of the checkpoint challenges include riding adult-size big wheels through mazes, kayaking, careening down inflatable Slip ‘n Slides, and completing timed brainteasers. Team divisions include Co-ed, Male, Female, and Family. The Family Division, which pairs an adult with a child (ages 7-12), is one of the only opportunities for parents to participant in an athletic event with their kids.
After crossing the finish line, participants and their families will enjoy a huge party with music, great food and drinks, and the opportunity to test drive new 2008 Subaru vehicles. The winning team at each race takes home a pair of Fat Tire Cruiser Bikes and the top three teams in each division also win prizes. Each race also benefits a local charity that promotes an active, healthy lifestyle.
Now in its fourth year as the title sponsor, Subaru of America, Inc. is pleased to continue their support of such a fun and participatory event series. The first Subaru Urban Assault Race originally debuted in Austin, TX in 2003 and has now become the biggest adventure race in the country. The race is particularly popular with couples, friends, families, and urban athletes who have aptly nick-named it “The Amazingly Fun Bike Race.”
The seven 2007 Subaru Urban Assault Race stops include: Dallas, TX (6/17), Austin, TX (6/24), Boulder, CO (7/22), Denver, CO (7/29), Madison, WI (8/19), San Diego, CA (9/23), and Long Beach, CA (9/30).
