Jesus, a black rapper named Kanye West

What do you think about this pic? The new cover for this months Rolling Stone magazine. I dig rap, but I listen to so much music that I have a hard time keeping up with most recent artists.

Some of my co-workers are music hipsters, they know all the indy stuff, they have shows on the local university radio shows, etc.. Bigtime snobs, yes.

But they all still go crazy for Kanye West. It strikes me as a Desperate Hauswives or OC kinda thing ... guilty indulgence. They gushed about his show for weeks after going; the cheese, the outfits on the fans ... all sincere (if stil guilty) love.

I don't get it. Sometimes dumb is just dumb, not cool.

Isn't this the "George Bush hates black people" dude? Oh man.

Good stuff, Loco! This is sure to turn ooogly!

It's a good thing he didn't pretend to be Mohammed or stuff would be blowing up right now.

Kanye West don't know what to do for publicity. Didn't 50cents talk some serious sh!t aboout KW? If Kanye West was a serious rapper he would be putting a cap on 50cents arse, not pulling this Jesus thing, Kanye West ain't got no cred, you know what I'm saying?

Kanye West don't care about the Christian people.

    Some say Passion.....

I say Retardation. And Wilson Pickett gets low billing on the cover. That's real blasphemy.

Why? I say having pictures around the world of a caucasian Christ is more blasphemous -and utterly rediculous. Jesus was a black man that lots showed prejudice against. Same with Kanye West.

Kanye has some really brilliant lyrics, but his music is boring, overdone and a very one-trick pony thing. Here's the Kanye formula. Take a good soul song from the 50's. Speed it up. Rap over it. Repeat.
If his ego weren't so damn big and there was a little variety to his music, i'd like him. Oh, and if he didn't write that awful "jesus walks" song... but i'm biased.

I meant it lightheartedly ... "That lots showed prejudice against ..." ouch. Just ouch.

I hear the voice of that boxer from the Simpsons in my head.

"Seperated from my family, and the mothers of my children, I was -" sh!t, I can't remember his next remark. But it's totally the wrong word. And hilarous.

Hopefully Loco knows that I'm nots showing prejudice against.

It's okay when Mel Gibson makes a movie where Jesus gets the crap beat outta him with blood gushing and all, but not okay when a black (Christian) dude is on a magazine cover dressed like Jesus.

I like KW's music, but he's got some growin' up to do in many ways.

    This too shall pass.
Taking it easy for all you sinners.
