    Stupid Stock 429C BB Question

I have the 429C XT / XTR Build kit I know the BB is PF92 and I have the XT crank but what actual BB (and/or adapters) is installed. I ask because it works great and I am getting ready to build another bike (or really have one built) that will be either PF92 or BB30 (probably BB30) and I want to use a Shimano Crank so whats in there? Like to stick with what has worked for me.

Your bike came withe the XTR Press Fit BB92. No adaptors needed on that bike BUT if you go to a BB30 frame you will need them and a totally different BB.

Thanks, that make sense... Yeah I know on the BB30 looks like my frame will be that working through the options, not real hot on any of them... will go read the endless threads (or threadless) on them

There are some decent BB30 adaptors that are well designed. RWC is one of the brands I've heard good things about.

Slightly offtopic, But am looking into a 2013 429C that has the XT/XTR build kit. The price is pretty darn good and really wanted a bike with XX1, so was thinking in the short term to just swap the XT crank over to an XX1 crank.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what would be needed for this conversion? Looks like the entire Shimano crank/BB would need to be removed and then which style BB would I need to purchase, all these BB standards confuse the hell out of me...

Does anyone know if they make a 1x chainring for Shimano cranks that have the alternating style teeth of the XX1 rings?
