    Reverie's Mach 6 Build

I saw all the Mach 6 Build threads and decided I need one too! I've posted a couple times in the "show your bike" threads.

    I'll start by introducing myself...

I live in San Diego County, CA.
I'm new to the forums and fairly new to MTBing. I've been riding MTBs for about 6 months. I fell in love from day one!
I have a background in Motocross and Road Cycling. For me, MTBing just made sense, and I feel I was able to pick it up quickly.

Anyway, let's get to the bike!

I started on a Santa Cruz Solo R AM. Decided i wanted a bike more suited for the DH bits of trail without giving up much climbing. So, Mach 6. Duh!
I waited 2 1/2 months for the frame to arrive. I was sitting on all the parts until then.

Unfortunately I was too excited to put it all together I didn't get many pics of the actual build. But here's the finished bike...

Thanks! The Mach 6 is definitely a more aggressive descender.

The Solo is an awesome bike. It's strengths are in climbing and technical descents. Not so much speed oriented due to the steep HT angle, shorter wheelbase and 32mm stanchions though. It also has noticeable pedal bob (especially on pavement).

I'm surprised at how well the M6 climbs though! Gained way more in downhill speed and stability than I lost in climbing.

I primarily ride the Sweetwater trail system because it's close. Every once and a while I venture out and do some other trails in San Diego County.

I really like them. Quality 3M product and the pieces go on easy and fit together nicely. I wish I had more practice before applying them to a $3K frame, but I had my $1K forks to test them out on.

The only negative things I would say are:
    1) Shipping from AU to California sucks. It takes forever and it's expensive.
    2) There's a couple pieces I'd like to see in the kit. (Underside of Bottom Bracket and Swing Arm like Vik's M6 has)

I didn't realize they were in AU. That sucks. How long did it take to get to CA?

I don't recall exactly. It was something like > 10 business days. Shipping was about $20.

Make sure and tidy up those cables by your Float X....run them according to the directions with the cable zip tie stand offs as well, they will start bowing out and annoying you

Ya, they're already annoying me. I'll wash my bike later today and install those. I had missed placed them but found them while cleaning up the mess I made building the bike.

Nice...we're neighbors. I ride just south of that at the Otay singletrack. Nice bike btw!
