I was thinking the same thing. Bet that housing won't last long. They probably ran out of the pink housing, so just cut one a little short... The bad thing, is that one won't get any help from suspension sag either.

How are the Hope Tech X2s? I just got a set for my Mach 5 and I have not put them on yet. This work thing is really getting in the way of my wrenching/riding.

REALLY good looking bike MTBMark! I bet it rides as good as it looks.

Thanks for the compiments. It does ride as good as it looks. =) I have been very impressed with how it rides. I was a little scared the wheels would look like a candy cane, but I like how it turned out.

I have been a hope fan for a number of years now. The Tech X2s are the same quality as all thier other brakes. Getting them positioned on your bars with your shifters will be the only challenge and that is mainly do to it just being different from what is familiar to you. The best way I found to get them right was to put them on your bars, inboard of your shifters of course, and leave your shifters loose on the bars. Get the brake lever where you want it (which will seem to be WAY to far in from your grips, mine clamp down about 1.5 inches away from the grip) and lock it down and then set the position of your shifter.

Being able to adjust your reach and pad engagement position is a nice feature.

Yeah i'll either wrap an old tube around the stay or check out what the lbs has in stock.

I'll post it up again when i've put the CCDB and chainstay protector on it.

Wow, looks like an awesome place to ride, minus always being in the sun. Nice bike too. Just cleaned mine up from all the mud that we have had recently. Finally starting to dry out.

some awesome rides here - I'll throw mine into the mix, just got it today, waiting on a couple of replacement parts - a Thomson Elite seat post and red Salsa skewers.

    Thanks

Bike shop in Phoenix, Trailhead, ordered it for me from their distributor. Seems like some of them are going fast - they were already out of the one with the solid gold arms.
