Aerolites. Sapim had a bad run of spokes, and I didn't really want to gamble with that. Plus I get EP on the DTs. Stan's Arch rims. Wheelset was 1680g w/o tape and valve stems. I9 hubs are slightly heavier than Kings.

    Pivot Mach 5

Took me a few months to get this one finished. Waiting on missing parts, and the I9 wheels, but it was well worth the wait. First ride on these wheels will be on Thursday, on the original wheels, it was amazing!

The Magura Venti-Disc rotors added a little more red, although more weight, but who is counting? (Front 180mm, rear 160mm.) Hutchinson Python Tubeless with 2.3" in the front, and a 2.0" in the back.

Thanks! I had hoped to take some better pictures, but I always seem to be doing it later in the evening...

Looks like my ride will be delayed until at least Friday, got to go get the teeth polished!?

The wheels are amazingly stiff. I could not detect any flex with the tires off, when pushing on them. Should be interesting. The amazing thing with these rims, is that I was able to install the tires tubeless, using NO soap and water, and air them up with a standard floor pump! I was never able to do that with my Mavic rims.

What are people smoking when they say this bike weighs to much for xc racing. You know you want to ride this one. 22.48 without pedals. And way CHEAPER than your epic peices of Junk!

Sheesh what's wrong with you, it is true that for a XC 4" bike, the Mach 4 isn't as light as the competitor, Im not mkaing it up and they dont need to be any flaming or anything. Sheesh, emo peoples.

Yeah, I'd really like to weigh mine and find out. Mine is bone stock (XTR Ultralight, Mach 5), except for I9 AM hubs/spokes to Stan's ZTR Flows, Hutchinson Pythons (2.35 front, 2.0 rear), 180mm rotor up front (both rotors are Magura Venti-Disc or whatever), and some ODI lock-ons...

That really is 22.48 without pedals, no Joke! Thanks dustin for somehow making my picture larger. I have weighed it on 4 different scales. Its not that hard to beleive. The Super light build that was introduced at interbike is 21.48 without pedals. The frame with front derailler, BB and headset cups pressed is just under 6 lbs that is pretty competitive weight considering it has all that stuff already installed. Its a super fast XC bike it absolutly flies up hill with the light wheels. Absolutly Incredible bike.

    New Firebird

Here's the new ride, yes that is a hammerschmidt! I realize this isn't recommended but someones got to guinea pig it. I'll let you know how it rides once I get it out, a few tech issues still, hopefully tomorrow. Also, I'll put some pics up once I get her airborn.
