Mine fits a 2.35 Schwalbe Hans Dampf with no issues. Nothing like a 26er for tyre clearance.

You think it can fit maxxis ardent 2.4 or even 2.5?

No idea about the Ardent question but it fit a Nevegal 2.35 just fine. Maxxis tends to run narrower than Nevegals so I'd imagine it would work

Couldn't say but the Schwalbe is 62mm wide across the tread on a Shimano XT rim. There looks to be around 3 to 4mm of clearance either side of the tyre. This is the biggest tyre I have run on it and for a 2.35 is much bigger than the 2.35 Kenda Nevegal it came with.

No I'm saying the 2.35 Schwalbe Hans Dampf has 3 to 4mm clearance. Every brand tyre has it's own way of measuring the tyre so good luck with the Ardent. I have not used one so can't say how that will fit.

Just got the 2.4 ardents and confirmed they fit with plenty of clearance. Dare I say it could go up to 2.5.
