    Pivot Mach 5.7Carbon weight

Guys I have been trying to seach down the weight of a 13 5.7 Carbon XTR model. I have read some say 24.5lbs and others say 27.5lbs with similar tire setups. Just looking for some honesty. My local dealer doesnt have any in stock or I would go check them out. They have a Mach 429 carbon XT setup and it weighs 27lbs??? how can that bike weight so much more and it be a 100mm setup bike?

I have a medium 5.7c, XT/XTR, XT crank and cassette, DT Swiss M1700 wheelset, stock, other than a WTB Laser V seat and Salsa QR for the seat post. Right now, I have a 2.2 Ikon rear and 2.35 Ikon front tire with a scoop or so of Stans in each. Weight is 25.90 pounds. With a 2.4 Ardent front and back and more Stans it's about 26.9 pounds. You could go lighter on the wheelset - don't, unless it's at least as stiff a wheelset, or you'll offset the beauty of the stiffness of this bike! It was a full pound heavier than my last bike, and I set 6 personal records on it the first month.

How you build it is everything. A 5.7c can easily be 22-30+lbs depending on what you throw on it, same thing will go for the 429.

Don't know if it would be worth it, they have a higher bottom bracket than a Mach 6 so would be taller again.
