    Pivot Les Rear Tire Clearance

I am wondering if anyone knew how big a rear tire could fit on a Les and still have ample room for mud. Would a Nobby Nic 2.35 fit? Or if anybody that had a Les could take the measurement of the distance between the chainstays and the seatstays where the tire would pass. Thanks.

I have a 29 inch Les and am running the 2.20 Slant Sixes that came on the bike. I have around 4 mm or so clearance on either side. I'm not positive but I'd guess the 2.35 would fit just fine.

If I recall somewhere in the Pivot literature it specifically said what size rear tire would fit.

    Here you go. Found it...

"The real magic in the LES design is that we clear some of the biggest 29er tires in the market. Go ahead and run your 2.3s or even WTBs Weirwolf 2.5. The LES has ample clearance".

Thanks. I do remember reading that but tire sizes do seem to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Also there is seldom truth in advertising these days so helps to collect as much information as possible. Anyway in the end I called Pivot, according to the guy on the other end of the phone the clearance between the chainstays at the tire is 74/75mm which will be enough for a Nobby Nic 2.35.
