    2000$ - 1400$ = 600

    5/8 * 453 (1 lb) = 283g savings.

600 / 283 = 2.12$ per gram. I guess the question you gotta ask yourself is, how big a weight weenie are you? 2$ per gram is on the edge for me, but being able to run an angleset is also a factor. They also changed the rear suspension this year to make it a higher leverage ratio. Supposed to be more tunable for lighter riders. I haven't read any test about how the 2010 suspension rides relative to the 2011 suspension though.

I'd just get the less expensive one...I thought about that too in 2008...I figured the carbon insert in the center pivot wasn't worth the extra $1500.

Plus it's awesome to go into ANY bike shop and the sales guys ask you..."so what do you ride?" as a sales pitch...then you answer " a Pivot Mach " , at this point ALL sales guys will just turn around and leave you alone. NOW THAT IS AWESOME!

Angleset only works on a full 1.5" HT, not the taper.

Really, no angleset is possible on the mach 4? Not with a 1 1/8 fork?

Nope, you need the full 1.5 headtube in order for the steertube to adjust inside. You end up with the steertube angled from one side of the HT to the opposite which requires a bit of room. AFAIK, there isn't any 1 1/8" angleset upper cup.

Cane creek has 2 types listed with 1 1/8 uppers:

    Here's one of them:

I'm pretty sure this one would fit, but not 100% sure.

so it appears... interesting... if it's true that CC makes and angle set for tapered head tubes could you say use one on a Mach 4 or 5 and not void the warranty?

Whats cool is apparently they're going to make one for tapered forks in 1.5 headtubes - in other words if you have the FB and a tapered fork, you be able to change the head angle.

Well now I know! I'll have to ask about any warranty issue but I'm thinking it's not a problem since the fork length isn't being changed.
