Any issues putting on the Bos Kirk shock? Did you have to order any special bushings from Pivot, or did you just re-use the mounting hardware that came with the Float X?

I just ordered a 2015 Mach 6 Carbon in blue. After speaking with one of the sales reps, the stock stem on the large frame is 75mm and I'd like to swap that first and foremost. Anybody recommend a good 60mm stem in ano blue that won't break the bank. Kinda short on funds now. The other thing I want to swap out is the the 2x XT chainrings and get a 34T RF NW. What do you guys think: blue or black? I'll post pic when I get it.

Decided I don't like the ano blue. Saw enough pics to determine that I don't like the way it looks. So instead I'd rather just stick with a black RaceFace stem. Narrowed it down to Ride 60mm, Chester 50mm or Aeffect 50mm ($30-$40). Or am I splitting hairs and just get the cheapest of the 3? Is there a considerable difference in handling of 50mm vs 75mm?

Also, what dropper seatpost do you guys recommend? What size diameter should I be looking for?

    Yes, go black.

I run a 60 stem and that feels quite differs from even a 70.

Post is 30.9. I run Blacklites, but hear the new RF is very good.

Good choice. I've never been a fan of matching colors with anodized parts. They never look quite right, they usually call attention to themselves rather than accenting the color scheme. My shop likes to put red or green anodized tips on cables to match the bike but I usually take them off and put black on cuz the stick out like a sore thumb.

If you are going to pedal it the bike has to fit you well. 25mm difference in stem length is significant, but nobody can tell you which to use or if you need a 60mm stem.

Stock handlebars are RF Evolve so at least I'll start off with the RF Evolve 60mm stem and go from there. (I already know the stock Pheonix 75mm stem is going to be too long, especially on a large frame).

I'll check out the RF dropper. Have heard good things so far, but see alot of people running the RS Reverb.

Can someone elaborate on the pro/cons of the reservoir of the Float X? My bike didn't come with it. Highly doubt I even need it or would benefit from it but I'd rather be educated on this subject

I'll post a pic when it's built up. Going 1x up front and waiting for blue fork decals.Mach 6 pics-20160220_164813.jpg

There are plenty of suspension guys on these boards, but to my knowledge the reservoir adds oil volume which in turn keeps your shock running cooler. This helps if your a bigger rider and do a lot of downhill.

It also keeps the shock working more consistently, if that makes sense. Mann my old Float RP3(non-reservoir) would be hot to touch after some park runs on my old Spesh Enduro. The Float x on my Mach 6 has yet to be even close to that hot

    Finally finished!!

So I've had my Mach 6 for just over 12 months now and I still adore it. It just keeps getting better. Over that time I have gradually upgraded it until I have it where I think it's finished. So unless I break something I think this is it. The bike when I got it was essentially the XT 1x11 build but with Enve DH bars and Mavic CrossMax enduro hoops. Since then I have uprgaded it to XTR across the board, a Push ElevenSix rear shock and have recently banged on a set of Zelvy Carbon rims and matched up the brake mounts, rotors, jockey wheels and brake lines. I think it's very pretty and given that it all matches now it's at least 8km/h faster. I hope you like the pics.

This seems to be the most active Mach 6 thread, I'm currently on a SB66 with a Vivid Air, and the M6 is currently at the top of my list. Has anyone spent time on both that can share side insights?

11 days of riding in Moab and I am digging my Mach 6 more than ever. I got to ride with lots of other bikes and the M6 was like cheating. So easy to climb up and so fast down the other side.

This ^^^ is the current configuration.

Hi all. Greetings from Malaysia. I just bought a used 2015Pivot Mach 6 frame and will be getting it next Sunday. It comes with a CDDB shocks and I am fitting it with a Rockshox Lyric RC 160. The other parts will be transfer over from my existing Pyga Oneten29. The frame color is blue and I notice that there are a lot of decals on the frame. Can those decals be removed to give it a clean look?

Sadly no the decals are under the clear coat. I have a "power ranger" blue frame with a decal orgy going on. I have covered some of them up. If you go to a sign shop they should be able to cut you vinyl that's a close match to the frame colour. You can use it to protect the frame and cover some of the decals.

Pivot's graphics designs have become more simplified and classy which I really appreciate.

    Enjoy the new bike.
