    Mach 6 and Paint issue

    Hello.

I have 2 Pivot Mach 6, and both of them have this issue in less than 2 months of use. Both on the same place, I was wondering if this only happened to my bikes, or anyone else is having it.

I don't know if the frame has aluminium insertions and maybe the base layer used was for carbon and not for aluminium, and paint just falls because of this. (Just guessing)

    Thanx

Only issues with paint on my 2014 M6 was a result of wind blowing it over while I was trying to take a picture of it. I live in the land of the M6 (south mountain AZ) and have seen very few issues with paint peeling around corners. I wonder if your frame was work on while the paint was still wet, possibly causing some fusions that led to pealing. On thee other hand, I've seen many big scratches on swing arms and chain and tire stays, mostly caused by jagged granite. Carbon typically fairs well even tho paint takes the beatIng.

Actually, the rest of the bike is just perfect. No paint issues. It is just around the bearings (the first rear triangle got it changed under warranty) and the second one has no issues so far.
The second bike has this also around bearings on rear triangle and also, as yu can see in the picture, on the brake guide. It looks like aluminium below.

But I guess it might be just a matter of a few bikes that got to Spain.

I've got a blue power ranger M6 and the paint is 100%.

    Sorry you are having issues.
    Safe riding,

Did you contact your dealer and/or Pivot? I would be curious about the response.

    Thanks,
    Bob

It happened to both bikes. One was rear triangle replaced, and the other, with the same issue said was a matter of using it.

So warranty for faulty paint works, but it is at its sole discretion.

Paint didnt fall anymore, if you are curious.
