    Mach 6 Action Thread

So let's see some action shots! No beauty pictures here. This Instagram video of a 30' step down should kick it off right

A little more to add. BTW I am still waiting for my frame, this is one of my friends who got his this week.

This picture does no justice to how steep this roll is. This is a popular riding area and nobody has seen someone else hit this line.

Nice floater jump! Those steep line shots are so hard to get a decent pic without having a LOT of open area to really show the profile. Having the dude leaning against the face does help tho....

It is a very big line. The gaps get progressively bigger down the hill culminating in a 40'+ gap for the last hit. Someone put a ton of work into it.

I thought that gap looked big but it's hard to judge sometimes. Good stuff for sure, need a follow run with helmet cam!

    Great pix! Awesome trail work.

And I've got to say... Cool rims!

I want to put together a rider gallery on my DR web site some rainy day... if it will ever rain again up here in Marin.

One guy rode these same rims at Rampage last fall. He didn't qualify, and never provided good pictures as I had asked for. I grabbed a professional photo photo off the official web coverage, launching off a huge Red Bull wood ramp, which I would need copyright permission to post. I learned a lesson about sponsoring high profile riders and pro's if I ever do that again.... include an agreement requiring getting back usable promotional photos within a reasonable time period, or pay in full if past due. These rims are not at all cheap for me to produce. All proceeds are put back in to growing Derby Rims. A 26" x 40mm version will be available in a couple months or so.

Rider support is amazing! Thank you Salespunk!

Love your rims derby, looking at getting some for my mach 6 in the near future Not sure what hubs I want yet though. I've had chris kings and dt 240 but preferred the dt hubs.

    Maybe something different next time.

This gives some perspective on how big the first jump line I posted really is. One of my buddies on his M6 is leading the train in most of the shots.

Pretty fun place. U can tell lots of man hours and back break work was done to get that place the way it is. Looks like a big pump track.

I know that trail, I think it's in "my backyard" up here out of Sandy, OR. I would like to ride to ride a M6 on it as well, but Sedona will have to do this coming weekend with a reservation with M6 for 24hrs. I think I won't sleep that night and bring the lights.

Trail above is "Communication Breakdown" and "Quid Pro Flow" at Sandy Ridge Trail System, 38 miles east of Portland, OR. Here's my ride of the trail on my Banshee Rune around this time as well.

Thought I had video of the trail, but I was wrong. Here is something meh for everyone. It is all one long connected descent and includes everything from rocky fire roads to tight single track.

Brah, you can fly! Those jumps are friggin huge. What's the gap on those? At least 15ft. Video never does justice I know too. Dang.

I feel like I am more in the bike compared to my HD, but it is splitting hairs. I have a lot of shots from Sedona so I am going to be trickling them out for a while.

How is the HD in 27.5" 130mm?

Wow. Not only is that some really good riding, but that is one of the best vids I've seen posted. The remote heli shots really make it. There's one clip near the end where the lead rider looks like he's about to kiss the nose of the heli.

Really enjoyed that. Thanks. Makes me wish I could jump like that.

Your Derby wheeled M6 looks so burly and capable. What does it weigh? Makin' me rethink my decision to keep the Chili.

Come to the darkside... We have cookies!

27.8 lbs as it sits today with some medium spec parts like XT braks and XO cranks. I am going to finish off the build over the next few weeks with XTR brake upgrade and possibly some NextSL cranks.

Those guys killed it on them. They are setup 130 rear 160 front with the Pike's. What I have noticed is that the travel up front is much more important than travel in the rear. Brain Damage might jump in here or on the Ibis forum. He had just sold off his Bronson because he didn't like the fit and also noticed some flex. The Bronson guys didn't want to hear that their bike wasn't Santa Clause in high heels and got pretty upset on the 275 Forum basically denying that it was the Blur LT replacement and not the Nomad replacement. Watching him last weekend in Sedona was like seeing a different rider. He killed it on the HD in 275 mode hitting all the sketch lines and tech climbs before any of us. Cool to see the change that a bike can make in a rider.

Must be better with 650b, I see thats how giant differentiate the SX Trance vs std Trance just bigger fork.

Great to see its working well for them on 650b and the HD
um interesting they have had flex in the Bronson too, I wouldn't have changed the HD for that rig anyway fwiw but nice stuff.

I tried a similar setup on the HD @ 26" wheels 140rear flop chips / 160 front bike was terrible in 26" anyway, just out of balance weird in corners, just handled off, not like I haven't done this in the past either on other bikes, but I didn't like it on the HD with 26" wheels, 650b must balance it out better.

Some pics from Sea Otter last week. First up one of my teammates not CURRENTLY sponsored by Pivot (hook us up guys!) on his way to 16th overall in Pro DH and also finished 10th in Pro Dual Slalom. Not bad for an attorney that works 50 hours per week...

    Pulling a train with Lopes

A different perspective showing how big that move really is (non Pivot rider, but better angle). Tricky run in and run out.

Great looking new trail. I usually get down to Bend to ride about twice a year. Love the Wanoga side of the trails. I have not ridden this trail yet and will be there next Thursday. I can't find much updated on this trail online. Do you have to access it from DMH, or can you easily get there from Wanoga? We have 2 cars, so will be shuttling as much as we can over 4 days to get in as much riding as possible. Wanoga to Conkin is always in the plans for several descents, so I would like to add this one to it as well.

Looks a bit similar to the bottom of SK, but with more jumps? If you can give me some ideas on good descents that would tie in this trail, it would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait until next weekend!

Nothing too exciting. Just playing around on the rocks in the forest.

    Safe riding,

Heading to bend for the first time this summer any quick tips on what and where to go? I know this isn't the place for it but I have to ask.

Do a search in the Oregon thread. Tons of threads on trip planning and what trails to hit around Bend. Pretty easy to figure out and just about all the trails are great. Heading out tomorrow to Bend, can't wait!

Sure, first thing to do is check in with one of the local bike shops, Bend has lots of good shops, especially on the Century Drive. Grab one of the local area bike maps. I would check out the Phil's trail system, lots of good riding there. Then head up to the Wanoga Snow Park. Tiddlywinks, Funner, and Tyler's are all incredible rides. Enjoy your visit to Bend.

Thank you! I'm really looking forward to the trip! Recommend any shop in particular that might need a cold six pack?

Sagebrush Cycles would be my first choice, then Pine Mountain Sports.
