    Can anyone confirm that there is no spacer required when installing the bottom bracket?

    No Spacer required for the XTR BB that went into mine. Cups just press straight in!

    This is my first carbon mountainbike and I'm a little surprised that the coating is so fragile.

    I got the frame from my lbs and it was there as a testbike. I'm told that is has little miles behind.

    Looks like the top matte layer isn't holding anything. I actually dropped a hex key at the top tupe and it chipped very little off the coating.

    Obviously there hasn't been any frame protection what so ever and now I have put protection tape all the sensitive areas.

    I know this is only cosmetic but like I said I'm surprised.

    Does anybody else who doesn't use extra protection lose their matte finish down under?

    yep. i've lost some of that matte too.
    i put some additional black electrical tape on chainstays.
    I have very rocky (loose rocks) condition here, everyone (all frames, alu, carbon, giants, pivots, etc.) use protectors (for downtube) made from old tires.

    My Pivot 5.7C now with Light Bicycle carbon rims. Bike was fast with 819's-can't wait to try with new wheels. Hopefully take it out this Sunday.

    Mach 5.7 c

    My Pivot Mach 5.7 c , this bike works great, just I canīt find any fault, excellent performance in all ground conditions, lightweight ( 24.25 lbs) for a bike with 5.7 inches of travel, finishes are the best in carbon fiber ,this bike just makes me smile.

    This is the best stuff out there for frame protection! I use it on the BB of my Firebird and Session 88. Used it on my previous carbon Remedy. It hold's up to the rocks here in AZ so should work in most places. VERY sticky and shapes to every curve!!

    Anyone here ride a Large 5.7 frame that is 6'-2" with a 33" inseam & what size stem are you using?
    Also what size stem comes stock on the Large 5.7c.

    I have been looking to build a new bike this winter. So far I have narrowed it down to the 5.7c and the Yeti SB-66c. My one stumbling block on this frame is the lack of ISCG tabs.

    I read a bunch of reviews and I have seen in more than 1 article that they said Pivot would have an ISCG adaptor coming down the road. Is this true? Is there one available? Did they scrap that idea?

    I really like this bike but the lack of ISCG tabs makes it the one box I can't check off on my list of frame requirements.

    I'd be surprised if isgc makes it anytime soon. They recently said it means replacing the molds etc which is expensive.

    He was referring to the adapter solution that was made available for the ALU 5.7. Last Fall there were statements around creating a solution for the 5.7C as well. "Twas basically a ISG ring around the BB the you bolted on. I haven't seen it offered for the ALU 5.7 since the Spring and I highly doubt a similar solution is in the works for the 5.7C at this stage.

    My friend from workshop is trying to make chainguide/roller for me.
    It'll be simple composite plate (3mm thick i think) mounted on BB tube

    Not sure what it weighs (large frame) but I'm really happy about how it turned out. The purpose was to have a bike that would climb like a goat and still be confident in the descents. Just finished it so haven't ridden it yet but I'm itchin' to!

    I finally was able to ride mine yesterday and first impressions were amazing. I wanted a bike that could climb like a goat and still be a confident descender and I think that's exactly what I got. I didn't have much time to ride before I had to leave but I am very impressed with it.

    Just took my 5.7C XT/XTR Pro to my first ever day of lift-served riding at highland, and had a blast! It's not a DH bike for sure, but I was carrying enough speed that I was always in the top half of the big ring. Bike could definitely handle a lot more than I could (I stuck to the greens/blues). I did find I was dropping chains on some really rocky areas - even had it happen twice in 100 yards, once to the outside, once to the inside! Shame the frame doesnt' have ISCG mounts.

    Anybody figure out a way to add a 2x chainguide? Would be nice to toss on there for the DH days...

    Oh, and even the DH guys were drooling over the bike, which was cool. The Lifties kept lifting it up to check the weight after they pulled it off the chair - a bit lighter than the sleds they're used to!

    yep, i'm waiting for a mech-friend to create a chainguide for me.
    Mach is so versatile bike, indeed it's shame there is no ISCG

    Maximum recommended by Pivot is 150mm and the minimum is 140mm. I'm rolling a Fox Float 150 and really like the fork and the way it makes the rest of the bike feel.

    Pivot recommends 150mm,
    however if you prefer more downhill ride you can put 160mm (Fox34 160 will be ~13-14mm higher)
    fox36 160 or Lyrik 160 will be ~20mm higher.
    It still rides well.
