Mach 5.7 Alloy upper link maintenance

    Hi all,

I think it is time for me to replace the suspension bearings on my 5.7 Alloy from 2011
Yes; quite some kilometers, and 3 muddy winters...

I can see on Pivot site a good PDF on how to do that for the lower DW-Link, but nothing equivalent to remove/install the 4 bearings of the carbon rocker upper link ...

Anyone has got some litterature, or is this just so simple that no DIY manual/video is even needed?

Thanks for support and shared experience

I don't know what pivot recommends but I just used my slide hammer/pilot bearing remover. Took about three minutes for all four. And I was able to just hold the links in my hand. Then I just used a brass drift to pop the new ones in. Alternatively, I bet you could use some all thread, sockets, and a couple nuts to push them out/in. Or a vice with soft jaws and a rag.

I will say the slide hammer has been one of the best tools Ive purchased. I use it on all kinds of bearings.

At the shop we have a fairly simple puller that's pretty much a bolt and socket setup. Tightening the bolt pulls the bearing into the socket and out of the rocker.

    Thanks for advices guys!
I don't have a slide hammer, but the 'bolt+socket' trick looks really smart; i'll give it a try
