    Les question

I live in the Midwest and most of our riding here is of the XC variety. Couple 40-50 mile races a year. I currently ride a Mach 429 alloy which I really like but would like to add a hardtail to the bike quiver. Given how much I like the 429, my first thought was building up a Les. They are hard to find in LBS's here but I did get a chance to see one in person today.

I was surprised how frail that frame felt especially the down tube. I'm 6'2" 225. Is this frame not for me or did I draw the wrong conclusion ?

Absolutely not a frail frame! We have one of the coaches for the AZ NICA league riding one this year and he's a big dude (6' 8", ~250lbs). Light doesn't equate to fragile when the carbon is formed properly. I'm riding the 27.5 version myself (6' even, ~185lbs) and I've already got 800 miles on mine with the majority of that on typical rocky AZ terrain.

This bike is no where near fragile. I'm 6' 195lbs, so at least 205 with gear on, and I don't take it easy on this bike when railing our AZ trails My best friend is 6'3 and 180 something and he rails his on the 20-30 minute downhills in the Santa Barbara area.
