    Les 29 & Rohloff

Anyone tried the above? What axle plate (I assume the OEM one won't work)?

I've got a couple Rohloffs and didn't think they were through axle compatible.

They aren't, but the swinger dropouts on the Les 29 aren't either.

Got it. I assumed they were 142 through axle.

If they are QR 135 you can use a Monkey Bone disc brake adapter [only in 160mm I think] and an OEM 2 axle plate for a clean setup.

Rohloff w/ Monkey Bone on my Surly Krampus.

    The rear brake is postmount.

If you're handy, you could fabricate something like this:

Found it while doing a similar search.

Sorry to highjack this thread, but Vik, do you have any problems mounting your wheel with this setup?

I have the threaded axle version, with the OEM2 axle plate and Monkey Bone, and can't seem to feed the plate into the Monkey Bone while mounting the wheel onto my Krampus (the axle won't clear the bottom part of the drops in order to slide into place).

Do you have to remove the Monkey Bone from the frame each time you remove the wheel? Or have I been staring at my bike for too long and am missing something very obvious?

I've had my Krampus' rear wheel off exactly once in over a year of ownership so I'm trying to recall what I needed to do.

I think I just loosened the bolts holding the Monkey Bone so it could slide and that gave me the wiggle room to pull and re-insert the wheel.

I'm going to pull my wheel to set it up tubeless and I'll post a note here with the process required.

What I do remember when I had to fix a flat trailside last summer was that it was no big deal. If it normally takes 5mins to fix a flat this setup takes 6 mins.

    Nothing I worry about.
