    Brake Hose Length

Dumb question, thought I would put it here rather than the brake forum as it is somewhat specific to Pivot.

I am looking to purchase hydraulic brakes to replace old BB7s on my Mach 5. Frame size is small. The system I am looking at is pre-bled and I would prefer not to have to mess with the hose length if I don't have to. So my question is, for a small Mach 5, what length hose for the rear brake line? Will 1300 mm be enough?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most standard hoses that come with your new hydraulic brakes will be plenty, if not too much, for your frame. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You may find that you want to shorten the hose eventually in the future.

Thank you for the response. I took some quick measurements and thought I would be okay, but going from mech to hydraulic I wasn't sure if you would want more/less/similar amount of slack/play in the hose compared to cables.

    Thanks again.

Small Mach 5 would need 48.5" for the rear hose, 29.5" for front.
