5.7c Drain hole for bottom bracket?

Hey all, the other day when I removed the cranks from my pivot 5.7c I noticed a heap of water around the bottom bracket.

Must get in when I give the bike a wash, down through the seat tube.
The seems no drain hole or way out for this water?

Must bikes I've owned have had a little hole around the BB..

So with the pivot what does everyone do after a wash? Seems big job to remove the cranks. Maybe sit it upside down for the wash?

    Thanks
    Joel

I always let the mud dry and then brush it off and wipe it all down with a wet rag. I never hose my bike down.

I to have noticed water pooling at the bottom bracket, I don't think that all of it is from hosing it down either, it gets pretty wet where I live sometimes and all of the races that I did in the last season turned into absolute mud baths.

Anyone have a solution? I have tried grease around the seat post to try and waterproof it but the moisture still seems to get in

On another note, I installed a bottle cage and noticed that the threads on the bolts were really loose, this could be a possible source of the water intrusion, i am going to thread tape the little sods just to be sure.

I have the same situation with the 5.7 Al. I need to replace my bottom bracket because of that water. Any solutions would be appreciated. I would hate to have to replace my bottom bracket again.

Agree. If it's very muddy, I use a bucket of water and a brush. I rinse with the left over water by pouring over the bike but not the seat if the seat post is not sealed ie Thomson. I then wipe it down. Rainy rides or down pours with the bike on the car, the seatpost gets pulled.
