I'm curious, was it supplied with BLUE seat post clamp??? What is overall frame build quality (especially compared to Ibis Mojo SL - I'm still mojo-man, but awaiting Pivot soon ). I see free cable guide on the bottom of the top tube, is it for dropper post, correct?

All the other bits are blue, why not? I'm ordering a blue CK headset to match the blue anodized bits on a Fox fork on my Mach 4. Bummed the linkage hardware is red.... but I'm not dropping $450 on a blue "lunchbox"

Anodize is cheap to do, why so much
for a different color? I think they should
anodize the parts to match the color of
the frame or just do them in black.
Best, John

Mr Ryan, what state are you in? I'm in Brisbane and they have a frame in stock at my local shop and I am seriously considering one of these as my next steed. Just curious what sort of terrain you been trying it on?

Congrats! Blue looks great with the blue links/bits. I live in Golden and have had the aluminum 5.7 for a year. It's perfect for the trails around here. Your going to love it.

@ Vega77 - I'm looking forward to riding Apex, Chimney, and White Ranch once the snow melts and the trails dry out. I demo'ed a few 29'ers but still liked the 26" and the handling of the Mach 5.7 better for the Colorado Front Range rides
@ toHelluRide - Thanks!

I live on Lookout Mtn at the top of Apex. I ride the enchanted forest and apex trails about twice a week. The 5.7 absolutely rips it up.

Slowly changing out the blue bits. The Straitline seatpost collar matches pretty well with the Industry 9 wheels and Hope brakes. But, the Chris King pink spacers are too dark. Waiting on a new pink Chris King Inset2 headset to replace the blue Pivot one. Hopefully, first ride next weekend.

Looking good! Probably can't tell from my picuture - but I have an I9 wheelset with blue hubs and spokes. I won't be riding mine until the snow melts...at least the skiing was good at Steamboat this weekend.

Got a great message from Fat Tire Farm today stating my frame had arrived. All I need now is for Fox to send up my forks and the build can commence immediately there after. Since folks have been asking about weight, we went ahead and threw it on the scale and my medium frame weighed in at 5 lbs, 10 oz (2552 g) without rear axle.

It's 4 ounces more that the claimed weight. It's only supposed to be 1/4 pound less than the 5.6 pound aluminum 5.7.

I always take claimed weight and photos of on-line proto build weights with a grain of salt. I also doubt that the ALU frames are coming in at 5.6 lbs as well. Considering Pivot just started production and have to work out the kinks, being off by ~.2 lbs at this stage doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I weighted another naked carbon medium at a different bike shop (no axle as well) and it came in at 5.75 lbs. Could be build variability, could be the scales, who knows. And If it means anything to you, my understanding is the Ibis Mojo SL-R's are in the same product ramp phase as the 5.7 carbons and they aren't coming close to the original claimed weights either.
Point is, IMO 4 oz is not a significant amount of weight for this class of bike. Further, the claimed weight difference between the Carbon and ALU played absolutely no part in my decision to go with the Carbon. Stiffness, design, and material strength played the larger part. My build will still come in right around 26 lbs *if* the claimed weights for all my components are accurate (which they won't be), which is pretty light. Besides, I can always go with lighter tires or swap out my Reverb for a KS LEV if I decide to get all OCD about the 4 oz difference. :^)

I doubt you are right here. I have large Ibis Mojo SL frame (matt carbon, Ti bolts) from the first production batch and it's 2352.5 g incl. Fox RP23 shock with upgraded polymer bushings and Ibis bolt-on seatpost clamp (Ti bolt). The weight is as Ibis has claimed it (currently they claims 5.2 - 5.3 pounds/ 2400g on the web).

Not so easy if you already have high end components and very costly too. Btw. swapping from Mojo SL to Mach 5.7 carbon I had to sell well working 31.6mm KS i950 and buy new i950 in 30.9mm, and now would have to sell new i950R and buy LEV? Pure loss...

I said *original* claimed weight for the SL-R's. Last year Ibis was stating they would be under 5 lbs, then they said targeting under 5 lbs, and now they say ~5 lbs. LBS's that I talked to say they are coming in at or a little over 5 lbs. Totally makes sense as Ibis has changed their process with the SL-R, so I'd expect there to be some variability at the beginning.
The point is there is always a difference between claimed and actual, as well as proto builds, goals, and production start.
