429c - Supermax vs Pike vs Lefty

    Supermax - 130 travel, 536 AC, 60 offset
    Pike - 120 travel, 531 AC, 51 offset
    Trace - 120 travel, 526 AC, 51 offset
    Lefty - 120 travel, 521 AC, 44 offset (similar to a Fox 32)

The Supermax is freakin stiff! A Fox 34 feels stiffer than my current Lefty so I assume a Pike would have compatible stiffness.

I'm rolling with a FOX 34 set to 130mm, I ride the fork with a little more sag. It's so nice! Turned my bike more into a short travel enduro machine...

Sorry, I was not clear. I was wondering if people could chime in regarding the different forks.

i rode the Pike briefly (about 10 miles) in moab and i really enjoyed it. I'm a Fox loyalist but the Pike has made me a believer that RS has got their ducks in a row right now. It was super stiff and super plush, it felt bottomless. It tracked perfectly and I didn't notice any shutter or flex in my short ride. My next bike will have a Pike, for sure.

I've had a Lefty on my Al 429 and it's an amazing fork. I can't imagine adding a crutch back to the front end!

    Supermax is an amazing "fork".
I have one on Trigger 29er 1. Works very smoothly, I've removed the air volume spacer to give it a more linear feel, it's absolutely stiff and bike is very agile and stable.

You have to modify a Pike to run it at 120mm don't you? And how do you get 120mm from a Lefty for a 29er? Have you considered the 120mm SID or is that a noodle?

Yes, the Pike has to be modified. The last gen Lefty can be internally adjusted. I'm assuming the SID would be more flexy than the Lefty since my previous 20mm Reba didn't feel as stiff as my Lefty.

I thought someone said you can run 130mm on the 429c without voiding the warranty... Anybody?
