Is that Mach 6 27.5" or 26"? The FB blurb doesn't say.

The Mach6 is interesting. I wonder what the geo looks like. Naturally I have to ask what is "next generation" about the DW? The upper linkage looks different than previous Pivot setups. And of course, what will become of the Firebird? This bike encroaches on it's territory.

Haven't seen geometry yet. Firechicken is still longer travel if they want to keep a 26" bike in this segment alive.

The Mach 6 is 27.5. This probably explains why there are big sales on FB frames atm.

Wow, nice looking bike. Will be interesting to see the specs after the announcement. Love all the internal cable routing and the Float X as stock. Me thinks end of life for the FB and ALU 5.7.

Edit - I hate being wrong - open mouth insert foot. Disregard previous comments.

Brilliant bike, nice to see someone at pivot knows how to design a bike Will sell like hotcakes Im sure. This is the bike dreams are made of.

Waiting for all the comments about how Pivot stole the shock link concept from Specialized/Kona.

ISCG05 tabs and 12mm thru-axle too! Too bad the BB height is already super low. I'd buy a frame and run my 26" wheels on it for awhile. I just won some Enve carbon wheels with Chris King hubs in 26" so I'm kind of reluctant to change wheels right now.

So, from the Bike Rumor bit, it sounds like 150mm up front is what's on there now. Curious if a 160 mm fork is a build kit option that's been part of the testing process.

Going from 27.5 to 26, BB only drops .5" +/- Depending on how smooth you are, shouldn't really matter. My initial opinion was same, drop some 26" wheels in there and let'er rip!

Oh my. Very Nice. I like the look of the Mach 6 very much. And that stealth Red/Black version is so tasty!

Pity I love my 5.7C so much still. I'm not going to rush out and buy the brand new bike, but if and when my 5.7C wears out that'll definitely be at the top of my list!!

Photos are nice, in person is better. Ken, are the Mach 6's going to be in the demo wagon when y'all come to Portland (Sandy Ridge) on Aug 4th?

We have a few demo bikes on both the West and East Coast trailers so they'll be available to ride immediately after Dealer Camp

Weight? Price? Availability? Tire clearance? Teaser campaigns are fine but it'd be nice to clue the fandom on the important stuff...

With Mach 6 I'm wondering what is the point with 27.5 Firebird now. Dedicated 27.5 design, 0.7 inches less of rear travel, but same travel up front. Unless Firebird is getting a major overhaul soon to accommodate bigger 27.5 wheels at the back and differentiate it more clearly from Mach 6.

But the new bikes are looking good!

The Mach 6 looks amazing but it's just too much for riding in OH, IN & PA trails. My only wish from my retired Mach 5 was that the suspension was a little softer. Otherwise, it was an awesome bike.

For anyone from Pivot who may have actually already ridden this bike, how is the rear tire clearance? Could you fit say a Maxxis Highroller 2 - 2.4" tire with good clearance?

Update: this is with a 2.2 Kenda Honey Badger - not sure a 2.4 tire would fit well, but given angle of pic hard to say

Funny side note - wanted to point out this thread from 2008, props to TIMBERRR for knowing there was a Mach6 before even Pivot knew, since the bike according to reports has only been "In development for two years".

Ken - is the fork on the Mach 6 160 mm or did you guys do a custom 150 mm?

Someone talk to me about the wheels offered on the XT standard and XT/XTR build kits. I already spoke to my dealer about ordering the standard XT build kit and adding a dropper post which would put me below my 6K budget. I would be willing to order the XT/XTR pro build kit if the rims and hubs were a lot more durable than what is offered on the standard XT build kit and hold off on the dropper post for a couple months until I save the cash. I checked the DT Swiss website and could only find the wheelset offered on the standard XT build kit.

I don't know what the frame weights are since we were in a mad rush to get all the bikes built up for photos and ready to ride for demo. The complete bikes that I remember weighing were almost exactly the same as a 5.7 carbon though (can't remember the exact number since it was more of a curiosity thing). As for wheels, we're adding the new DT Spline wheelsets this year but I haven't had time to look at the spec sheet for each model yet.

You can always install a larger air can to soften up your Mach 5.

You can always order now. That never hurts...

You will start to see these in September time frame in some stores. Full sizes available in late October.

Think PRO Enduro bike for the Mach 6, and more Park type riding Firebird, or even more aggressive near DH or Mega Avalanche for the bird.

Yes, that's how I see it. Except with 26" wheels and 36 fork for the firebird.
