Your 3 best biking photos of 2011

Lets see what you did all year!

    Rules:
    - post up to three photos only per person - take your pick!
    - must be biking related
    - photos must have been taken in 2011
    - only photos you have taken yourself.
    - please post the actual photos in here, not just a link to a photo.

There are some really good photographers on this forum, it would be really interesting to see what everyone thinks is their "best off" the year.

ok, it seems all I did was shoot people flying through the air. A bit boring, but to get things started, my 3:

Near the finish of the Smithfield DH Racetrack in Cairns, Australia

"Donkey" entering a low earth orbit at the Bowl in Cairns

And finally, Bryce testing a newly built jump with style (Townsville)

Well, while I've been shooting quite a bit this year, as it turns out, for some reason, it hasn't been biking photographs? WTF? I mean, I've been riding plenty. Anyway, it seems unlike "lelebebbel", most of my friends stay closer to the ground.

Little Creek Mesa - Hurricane, UT May 2011

Mt. Pinos - Los Padres National Forest, CA October 2011

"Car Crash" - Santa Monica Mountains, CA November 2011

Still some riding days before the end of the year, I think I'd better get my camera out more!

These three images are from bike-packing across the Frost Plains of the Northern Australian Alps, last March and April. I didn't take many bike related shots this year but I sure took a lot of photos, thanks to being on a bike.

'Best' is so subjective. Technically closest to perfect? Favorite moment from a ride? Most evocative landscape?

Ask me yesterday, or tomorrow, and I'll pick a different 3.

    But today:

    And the winner is........(drum roll).........MoOse.....based on the 3 most critical components of photoghraphy, which are;
    1. Subject matter
    2. Subject matter
    3. Subject matter

    WELL DONE MoOse!!!!

To all the others, also well done, keep 'em coming, and pay attention to the afformentioned '3' rules.

One day, my warped sense of humour is going to get me into trouble....

Humm. Most of my best mtb pics were taken in 2012, but I'll play fair game.

Both are taken from Mt Royal in Montreal. The first is my little "gravity" pump track like I like to call it. Second was taken from the parking lot (bmike sure know the place too) on Halloween night.

Last one was from a bike trip to Burlington in october. My dad was going fishing, me and my brother were going to ride. Stuck at Lacolle borders for 3 hours. I took out my bike and rode the neutral zone meanwhile. We also caught a fly.

    Couple of mine from 2011.

First two are from the Ribbon in Grand Junction - an awesome ride if you are in the area.

Mikesee you have a great eye and spend time in some really unique places and are savy of good light. You could easily double the impact of your images with good digital darkroom editing but that is not a criticism, more of an enticement. I know the images take a beating in the posting process but the northern light image is so beautiful, likewise the beach scene. Such beautiful dramatic light

Thanks for both the compliment and the enticement.

These days I'm busy enough that I need to schedule sleep into each day. Just too much that I want to do, aside from all that I need to do. Which means given a choice between sitting here or being outside with camera in hand the choice is simple.

    Digimanipulating can wait. Indefinitely...

    Nice pics
Better 2 ask 4 pardon than 2 ask for permission. Recall that nxt time U feel you have 2 ask ur wife if U can buy something

Some damn fine pix you got here, folks.

I'll try to come up with three favourites of mine. The first one was easy, the others I'll have to think about a bit more and get back on the subject once I know what they are.

So here's #1 from my tiny point and shoot (props to Ricoh, you done me good!) involving actual riding or something remotely resembling riding or at least suggesting that some riding has occured.

    #2:

Maybe this should have been #1? Had already forgotten this whole trip, hot damn.

And I'll let #3 go to a cell phone snap as I kind of like it, smudgy quality and all:

[QUOTE=mikesee;9062213]'Best' is so subjective. Technically closest to perfect? Favorite moment from a ride? Most evocative landscape?

Ask me yesterday, or tomorrow, and I'll pick a different 3.

    Mike, very very nice shots!

First one's the best (not my shot, a friend's shot of my bike), next two are just fillers to make three.

    Too many

...great images in here. Also too many to choose, as about every photo I take is a favorite in some way or other, but here goes:

    Sand Canyon, Colorado this spring.

Self Portrait, Middle Mountain near Durango, Co:

    Self Portrait, Telluride Colorado.

On my iPad, so I'm somewhat limited here.I am decidedly NOT a photographer, and these are instagramed to death...so sue me. First one is along Perkins Brook in Moose Brook State Park, NH. The second is the final ascent at sufferfest atop Canon mountain. Number three is me being totally out of my league at IDE Ride last year...lucky #13.
