Mounting a SLR camerabag on the handlebar

Those of you who have, if any, how did you mount your camerabag (or any other similar bag) on the handlebar.

Did you by some specific bags or just mod it yourself.

I have a Lowepro toploader 1 which I would love to mount on the handlebar but do not see how I attach it so that it does not dangle freely all the time.

Well, I just went through a search for a good bar bag for my wife's bike, not for cameras, but for hauling doggie-on-trail stuff. You might look at the Topeak gear as well as one bag from Lone Peak. The Topeak bag has good structure to it and a complex mounting, but QRs off the bike and makes into a fanny pack.

The Lone Peak has less structure, but is light and is internally supported.

Might be easier to re-purpose a bike bag with internal dividers than to mount a camera specific bag.

With the way I ride, I would be too concerned about starting out with a fully functioning (D)SLR, and lens and coming home with a sack of rubble, to mount a camera bag on a mountain bike. JMHO, and YMMV.
