I've been struggling over the last several years to figure out how to shoot quality video and audio while on extended bike expeditions.
I'd love to tell effective, compelling and perhaps artistic stories from these trips we do but I seem to always sacrifice something, typically audio. Anyone on this forum come up with easy to use, fast to set up and lightweight audio recorder with a DSLR? I have a home made boom with my Rode shotgun attached to the end on a hot shoe connected to a audio recorder that has been working great but it's too much crap to carry and set up on light weight bikepacking trips. Open to suggestions.
Here is a demo reel of some of my videography and time lapse. If I were to add the audio from most of these clips, it'd be awful.
