    Drone Videos

I came across this drone video, by David McDonnell, of a trail we built 10 years ago, found it downright inspiring. I admit to being a little prejudiced, I created and installed the big black mountain lion sculpture.

Drone photography is a whole new specialty and as equipment costs go down it is fast becoming de rigueur. I think David has about $1500 in the gear he is using here.

I am planning on bringing mine to Colorado to capture some good footage for our MTB video/trip. I currently have the DJI Phantom, W/GoPro Hero 2, Fat Shark FPV goggles, Skew Planner Antennas, and a 600mw VTX... and have tested it to approx 1 mile, flight times around 10 minutes a I have the Phantom 1. I need to get a brushless gimble to get better shots but that will come later, currently i'm a pretty experienced pilot so i'm pretty good at swooping/panning shots but a gimble will give me cinema panning smooth style shots that I need. I'm into the 1500+ range already, Aerial photography gets expensive quick!

This is a spectacular example of how drones are a new paradigm for camera supports. Wow!

This was the result of heavy rains near my house, August 2014.
