    Great article, thanks for this. Now, how do you carry a DSLR while riding without having to worry about breaking it?

    I've got a Dakine Nomad pack, and I just jam my camera in there with the lens attached. I definitely notice the weight, but it's worth it.

    I use a Lowepro TLZ 20 with chest straps for carrying the camera and the standard or 55-200mm lens. The other invaluable piece of equipment I carry is an old Cullmann Magic 2 tripod that is lightweight and folds flat.
