    Trails around Manila

Hi guys! I am heading to Manila in two weeks to visit my uncle and bringing my full sus bike along. Will be staying around the LRT station 'R Papa'.

Would like to know from you experts if there are any decent downhill/ singletrack trails around Manila that I can easily get to via public transport(jeepneys/cab)? or just within cycling distance ??

Alternatively, are there adventure companies that run day cycling trips that you can hook me up with?

Day trips cos I would like to spend time with my cousins and experience the nightlife in Manila.

I like sceneries, mountains tops.. Stuff like that. You get the idea.

    Thanks in advance!
    Zick

I assume you're in the States, right?

At the risk of angering the Ultralord, you may want to sign up here:

    http://www.pinoymtbiker.org/

I will tell you that there are very limited trails in MM... most people will recommend the Fort or Antipolo as an acceptable location. The best ones (I am told) in close proximity are in Tagaytay. I do hope you get to ride... maybe you should PM flipinidaho since he's done bike trips there.

Also, you may want to check Quiapo or Cartimar for the cheapest components/accessories (not including suspension).

There were bikefests held in the Subic Bay area which from what I've heard included some Super D as well as DH races. That place is known for action oriented activities.

In another note. pinoymtbiker.org would have been better if they allow non-members to browse their forums just like MTBR.

Why so secretive about it? Makes me feel like the it was founded by the Bonifacios...

you can try the patiis trail. you can bike all the way from r papa. go to commonwealth quezon city. go straight till you reach sandigan. follow the signs going to timberland when you reach the bridge you will see a small food stop ALING TINAS. you can hire a tricycle for P150 to pull you up to the trailhead at shotgun ave. you push your bike for about 20 minutes then its downhill fun
