Pitong Bukawe- Absolutely, the next biking destination in MM

Contact Edmund Mangaser at All Terra for more details and how you can help in the development of this next destination. *I got a taste of it yesterday and want more... *Enjoy the pics.
At Giant, planning our route to Pitong Bukawe.

Checking out the trail map with the Barangay Captain. *The singletrack trails, rest stops and rest rooms are all built by hand.

Comparing it with the DNR map for accuracy.

Testing out the newly built singletrack. *It needs more riders or hikers to compress the dirt... Go there, ride, give a contribution. People pay 200P for La Mesa for a few hectares. Look at the possibility, the view and the terrain available at Puting Bukawe and give the locals some money you would normally spend on your merienda to keep the trails open and to build more new trails.

Planning the future trail system. How many Barangays are these supportive of cycling and WANT cyclists to visit?

    Check it out.

With enough manpower, the trail can be completed quickly. Hopefully IMBA patterned sustainable trails, with ecology preservation to be the priority.

Edmund was trained by IMBA and the trails are being built, by hand, using iMBA standards for sustainability. There is no such thing as Kubota built trails in the PI so the trails really need rider's support financially and politically to expand. Contact Edmund Mangaser at All Terra to help.

first you sell it to the local government (municipio) by telling them about the number of riders and the positive financial impact to the local community. you have to do your homework first though so you'll have figures and studies to cite. Edmund has some experience with this as he's leading the charge for trail development in that area and other areas in MM...

Where is pitong bukawe trail? It seems that Edmund is IMBA representative for that region if not the whole PI...He would be the go to person then, but this trail looks (or is) promising...

Rizal, between Giant (food stop past Timberland) and the Wawa Dam. Definitely see Edmund for directions and guidance if you plan on visiting. He'll hook you up with the locals. Try to spend money at the Barangay so they can see their efforts bear fruit. The trails are all hand cut. And the more people that ride there, the more they will cut.
