A total day of MTBing with all hours of daylight consumed... LOL

Jacobsburg is one of ther best riding areas around, so I decided to show Moto the place We rode from the main lot the entire loop. Jouming the bridge gap was a blast, even if it was on a rigid SS! J-Burg contains 18.5 miles of trails that are on the map but there are many more miles than that with the inner trails providing a series of loops the interconnect. Explorer trail is a fav, but the lower Y/G was recentely flooded out and we stopped and did a half hour of clearing to reopen this connector trail. Riding J-Burg was a really fun time and the weather was still warm. Prolly hit it again real soon!

Second ride was a stop at Big Pocono SP for the railtrail to Camelback Ski area and the other singletrack trails that climb up and down the mountain. I could see Moto was very interestd in getting into skiing as we viewed the slpoes from the top. The WB&E rail ROW was an awesome show of mechanical workings back in the day as it climbed to the top of the mountain using an "S" curve that still remains today in the Camelback complex. Pusher engines would wait at the bottom and assist the coal trains up and over the mountain, then return for the next train and I could only imagine the abuse the locomotives had to endure day in and day out. We located the spur that was used for this process as it is now well hidden in the overbrush. There are tons and tons of fill that was used to construct this ROW and it is a very nice ride to the top of the mountain on the rail ROW.

Third ride was a stop at Brady's Lake for another view of the WB&E RR, in a much more level area, Trout lake as it was know back then was part of the ice industry. We rode the WB&E as well as the new SGL MTB dedictaed trails system that was created after the recontruction of the dam in 2007. By this time of the day it was very cold and actually snowing, but fond memories of fisihing on the lake and the rather large fish that exist in the lake made for a warming feeling.

All in all it was a really long "TRIPLE EPIC RIDE", and mileage turned out to be plus 40 for the day, lots of food was consumed along with many great views of back road areas that make running around looking for more areas all the more fun! Ahh... where to go next weekend. Only the trails know as our tires will touch the dirt really soon again... LOL
