What an awesome night, I felt great and never wanted the ride to end!
The Fatbike felt like a feather under me, it flew up hills like the wind!

Fatbikes rule. Chuck, we have to get an all fattie ride video.

Well, I don't see snow this year, but it is March. Also, it's been known to snow in April. I like the fatbike in any condition so far.

Thats why I don't call it a snowbike, I call it a Fatbike, people seem to have this idea that they are only for Snow or Sand, I love riding it all year round.

I have to call it a snowbike because the head badge is a snowflake. Lol. I plan in getting a honey badger as a replacement.

Even though it rained all morning, the weather was perfect for the ride, and the trails were in great shape.

I was a big fan of the chest-mount, but that looked really good. Thanks for making -me- look good on the beginning of Ledgeview. Better than my flip-overs on Hell-Froze-Over (or the next trail down at HCGA) or that "timber" on the sketchy 8 climb!

Incidentally, I've had issue with youtube vids: my colors are off. For example, in the video, it looks like I'm in blue, but I was wearing orange on Wed. Anyone else see this, or is it just my browser, plugin combo?

    Best,
    Mark

    Mark:
The colors look good to me, brown shorts, orange shirt.

The mount is kind of a trade off, I like the chest mount it gives a first person feel to the video, but I get shake in the bouncy spots.
The handlebar mount the video is smooth, you loose the first person experience, but you gain the twisting and turning effect in the cornering.

Our rides are very social, meaning no one gets left behind, beginners are welcome. Rides are about 2 hours long, we take breaks. No lights necessary now as it is light till 9PM, bring lots of hydration if your coming tomorrow as it is supposed to be hotter than normal. We meet at the main gate at 6PM as the banner says! Just join right in lots of friendly people at da mOOn.

    See ya tomorrow

Usually we hit the trails around 6:15, but no problem if your coming I will wait for you a show you around if you like, our rides are really cool, we don't drop anyone or leave anyone new alone unless they want to be.

The ride usually breaks off into mini groups of like similar skilled riders anyway.

    Come ride, and enjoy yourself.

    Thanks

Wednesday evening rides on the moon

Lee, try not to lose my gf(bikergirl69) at da moon. Wish I could join you guys but I work away during the week. I have to try to get out early some Wednesday and join in. For now I get to ride French Creek, Marsh Creek, and the single track in Valley Forge. Not too bad I guess. Enjoy your ride.

It's not bad but it gets boring riding by yourself. Then you start to try stuff you shouldn't, and we know where that gets you. Pain.

I'm the same way, all the big obstacles at the Moon I first tried when I was by myself, then I'm comfortable doing them on a group ride.

Awesome video. I had a great time riding that day. It's you I need to thank for hanging with me. Hopefully the weather holds and the riding tomorrow will be just as good. It's going to be a hot one.

I'm trying to break myself to being okay with riding in the rain (i'm only partially okay with wet trails, still), but I don't have any desire to play in t-storms ... and things don't look great ... but I'll cross a metaphorical finger!

It was very slippery, the Fatbike definately made it easier.
I was trying the higher setting on the camera, but it cut down on the field of vision, oh well at least now I know.

I think the centermounted handle bar mount shows the twists a turns of the trail better than the chest mount, and it's a lot more stable.
Have fun on Wednesday, I won't be there, back has been bothering me for 3 weeks now, and took a turn for the worse this past weekend, as much as I hate to do it, it needs rest.

    DR6,

I like the new view, wider shows more of the trail, even makes it look more open...

..now with da Dilla coming up are you secretly training on Wednesdays on a 2 smoker for an appearance at da Dilla? You know last year we couldn't find you the whole race and Joe and I figured you were flying by doing laps!

Hope da back gets better soon...

    Wink

    Wednesday night rides are continual...

...non stop through the Roman conquest, the second coming of Christ, Elvis or Hucking Kitty, rain, snow followed by more rain without snow, beer, more beer, light beer, earthquakes, midgets, gravity, polar shift... and so on!

Disclaimer: No Romans were ever on the Wednesday ride, so the above statement is not politically correct, and to be taken with a hint of comical renderance!

Wind powered?, hell I have a steer by wire bicycle! weeeeeeeee, of course doing a one footer during this might not have been a good idea...
...ya this is gonna leave a big mark!

    Ride da mOOn...
    ...when does it end?

Unfortunately, I was unable to make the ride tonight!!! Due to other obligations, I got there a little late and as I was getting ready I saw everyone start funneling into Nature's Way1. I hope everyone had a great ride!!!
