Triple X Trex Fest fundraiser race for Trexler in Schnecksville! October 27th

I am very stoked. This is a super fun and very unique style trail as far as eastern PA goes! I'm just reposting this from Facebook, head there for updated info!

    https://www.facebook.com/events/704185242929445/

A Halloween XC Style Enduro followed by group and guided rides- is coming

Here's what is planned so far:

-Main Staging area in the fields at the top.
    -Halloween Theme
    -Hopefully live music
-Three stage XC Enduro. Yep both climbing and descending in
    each stage.
    -Each stage 2+ miles.
-All stages will start and finish at the main area. How cool
    will that be?
-We will try to get a food vendor.
-Guided and Group rides after the race.
-Should be a fun day to ride Trex, cheer on the racers
    and hang out!

More details to follow. Fitness Central is doing the artwork and a lot of legwork

Finally got a quality ride in at Trex and it was FUN! Nothing overly technical, just berms, rollers, and a few strategically places humps to jump off of or pump your way over. A unique trail for the area and a great change of pace. I would recommend riding Trex if you're in the area, and my buddy and I will be signing up for the race after riding here today. Should be a great time.

Yeah, defiantly a different change of pace riding there. was there for the 1st time this weekend. The event sounds like a fun time.

This afternoon I'm signing up for the beginner race.
Do you know what the parking situation is going to be?

I actually have no idea, I was wondering that myself, I'm in beginner as well. I will try to get someone who knows something to post on here. But also check out the Trex FB page in case they post something there:

EDIT: Just go to Trex as usual, signs will route us accordingly, instructions on here:

Gentlemen we will have adequate parking for several hundred cars if needed. Parking will be through the normally closed gate at the Mill Creek Rd parking area (North Range Stables), taking you to the top of the hill near the race staging and vendor area. See you there.

Sign up for the race on Bike Reg. All proceeds go back into trail construction. Plus the race will include a few new sections.

Does anyone know if the race prep for sunday includes blowing the trails off? The combination of the terrain, big time leaf cover, and "race" speed, makes the place pretty darn slippy especially bombing down the Broken Arrow trail side.

This race was a blast! The trails were great and everything went along smoothly. This was my first race and I really enjoyed it. May not have been the most competitive race, but it sure was a lot of fun! Met some cool people and I can't stress how much I enjoyed the trails at Trex.

Big thanks to the people who made it happen, from the organization to trail maintenance, to the people out there making sure all went well. It was an excellent event!

    Now when's the next one

Yes, big thanks to all! For anyone who missed it, the people who put this on did a GREAT job. Beforehand, there were grumblings of "it's too XC", or "it's not XC enough" but afterwards, everyone was all smiles. The top riders were an interesting mix of XC riders and DH/enduro riders.

For me, aside from having a blast racing (I came in 8th out of 22 in beginner, which I was super happy about) the biggest takeaway was the kid's race that Karen put on. The race itself in Pooh's Woods was super fun, but then the cool thing is for hours after the awards for everyone were given out and such, a lot of kids and adults were hanging out to session in Pooh's woods. It was great seeing the older kids help push the younger 4 year olds (my son included) up and over the one or two humps they needed help on. I looked across the track and saw a 9-10 year old boy help my son ride one of the bridges. Way cool.

Anyways, I hope they do it again next year! The people running Trex are really turning it into an awesome place.

You were 8? I was 9! Lol I'm coming for your next time

I had to leave very shortly after the race, but I think that story about the kids race sums up the feeling of the race. Competitive but super fun and such a great vibe all day long. No complaints about the race (aside from having to climb, but that's my own problem haha) and the downhills more than made up for it!

I had a great time too. I was pretty happy placing 14th considering my last race was in 2000 I'm already planning for next year if this becomes an annual event. The kids' races looked like a lot of fun. I'll have to let my son race if they do it next year.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to the race organizers/trail builders!
