Holy cantilever brakes batman! Retro is cool and all, but I'm never going that route again.
I was up at French Creek last weekend. It's easily one of my favorite places to ride. My forearms were burning when the ride was over; every mile you ride there is like two anywhere else.

Try riding Neversink Mountain man. That one will kick your ass if you're on a hard tail. Fun though. We should all get together and ride at French Creek one weekend. I'm relatively new the scene and don't know many of the trails well enough to ride by myself and gauge time.

EastCoast Steve...you should def.....
Post those photos over on the VRC boards (if you haven't already)
Those guys will be DROOLING over those bikes! Nice rides!
I ride some older equipment as well. My daily ride is a 1997 Eastern Woods Research Original Woods Bike frame. I have it as "updated" parts wise as I can get it though. Not much on it is "to the period" of '97. But, I love it.
I was out at French Creek on Sunday and yesterday. Quick loops each evening after I got done work.

Anyone got some old school parts they want to sell me? I need a quill stem (green), handlebar (green), and canti-cable-splitters.

Found a nice little spot to ride close to home:

A responsible rider would have stayed home and let the trails dry or take a road ride.

I agree! We all want to ride but if we ride on trails after that much rain we will not have any more legal trails to ride. Please give the trail a chance to dry out before going out.
Thanks,
Dad

Sorry, but you guys are way to PC for my taste. These aren't manicured "trails" for posers. I'm riding on deer paths in a stretch of public woods, and no amount of "irresponsible behavior" will impact your enjoyment and use of the sheep lines you guys covet. (IMO).
Lighten up and ride your bikes nancies.

If you get some snow ride pics in here you'll have all four seasons represented! Cool pics, I'm looking to get out this weekend when it hits the mid 50's

That looks like fun Give the trails a day or two to dry out. It has nothing to do with being PC it has everthing to do with having a brain.

Taking pictures of your bike in a puddle...bunny hopping a twig....you are hardcore Steve! You are definitely not a poser.

Onegeargood,
Look, I started this thread with the intent that others would post (add pics) of their "Today's Ride" and we could all get a taste of riding locations across the state. Silly me, I never thought it would be a "let's critique Steve's pics, pound our PC chests, and whine without adding our own photos" thread.
That's ok though, I have thick skin, enjoy RIDING my bikes, and posting pics for the few that enjoy them, so I will continue to do so. If you don't like my pics, my attitude, or the look of my mug....feel free to post, ignore, or PM me. I'm going out to get dirty and enjoy myself.
Cheers,
Steve
BTW: I see from your profile you ride a single-speed 29'er and you started riding way back in '97...sounds like you're much more HARDCORE than this old man...I bow to our greatness, lol.

Judd97,
The snow pics are just a matter of time. I'm looking forward to having some soft white stuff to fall in. Glad to hear you liked the other shots. If you get a chance, snap some shots when you hit the trails this weekend I'd love to see 'em.

Rode Gretna today, it was fine. Get out early and the ground will still be hard. The new trail will always be hard, its mostly rocks.

Any chance you snapped a few pics...I'd love to see some new spots.
