After yesterdays High Speed Ride da mOOn special...
...I decided to reward myself with a one & half mile, 11% grade, 800 feet vertical climb to the top of the mountain, a few pics and then descending.
With a warm up on the dirt road, the climb was nothing but pure suffering with loose, rolly rocks all the way to the top, As you can see by the profile most is an 11 percent grade. The climb is composed of two killer, never ending head walls and the worst one is the final accent to the top! Never slacks off...
...but hey, can always go ride flat stuff later...LOL This is actually steeper than Rt487 going up Red Rock mountain near Ricketts Glen and "that" is paved!
Ended up being on the bike for 48 minutes, and a ride average time of 5.4 MPH which meant I tortured myself good, although not a race, I invested in the climb heavily with more of a moving time of 4MPH, but kept my top speed down to a top of 20MPH to not let the overall show a false reading by flying down the mountain. Nice night to be out, just a good ride to the top of a mountain then enjoyable ride down taking in the scenery along the way!
