There's no mountains in SE PA...

...therefore, why would one need a mountain bike?

See, I lived in PA until I was 18. In my early teens, I begged my mom for a mountain bike.

    Her response?
"There's no mountains around here. You don't need a mountain bike."

Thanks mom. The old "you don't need that" response. There's a lot of crap I don't need, but I'd sure have fun owning those unnecessary things.

And now I live in Tampa, where there really are no mountains. But we got roots...and sand! I bet I missed out on some awesome trails in SE PA. Dammit. Oh well, maybe one day I'll drive back to PA with a real bike and check out some trails.

    P.S. I miss cheesesteaks.

No mountains? Not the Rockies, but surely not flat.
Check out the Topo map with eleveation.

Bring mom on a vacation back to PA and have her walk or ride that route.

You can't get Yuengling in PA anymore? I'm pretty sure my stepdad still drinks it. I'll take cheesesteaks over Yuengling any day of the week.

Maybe I should've asked my mom for a trail or cross country bike. I wonder what her argument against that would've been. Whatever elevation there is in SE PA is much more than what I have available to me now.

Who can't get Yuengling? That stuff is all over the place here in my neck of PA. (reading) Sure it isn't the Rockies, but some sections are plenty tasty for mtb'ers! Cheese steaks are great, but the philly ones don't really do it for me. The mom and pop shops are better like Zandy's in Allentown.

No, what I meant is that Yuengling has a brewery in Tampa...

There is a Yuengling plant within view of Busch Gardens and Florida may not have mountains but we sure have dirt piles all over. You did miss out on great trails if you never rode at home, I am from NJ now in FL, and I miss my trails more than all the cheesesteaks in south philly. Original Poster, PM me if you are interested in riding at Alafia some weekend.

Yeah, I remember seeing on tap when I went to Disneyworld.

I personally think it is total crap. I can only drink Yuengling Porter and that is it. Lager is overpriced for cheap-ass swill.
