Ok. It was a good ride. Took it to pine ridge station. The guys at the bike shop on 252 said theres another trail to pick up down the rode. I'm having a good time exploring back there. I'll probably be there tomorrow too.

Once I hit Pine Ridge, I don't know of any other trails beyond.
I normally will ride 252 out to Ridley Creek from there and back towards home. ( again as part of my road work)..
If you should come across another trail near there, please let me know.
The only others I know of are out near Don Guenella..

I've ridden don guanella. But not in a few years. I drove down the street on pineridge and then followed it up the hill. There's a little parking lot and a trailhead. Looks like it runs along the west side of 476 down back into smedley to the back of the park. You can see on the map where pineridge loops around next to the park. I'm not sure if this is the part they were talkin about but it what I've found so far

At the top of Hemlock is the trailhead..is a trail it brings you out to either the soccer fields at the back of Smedley or one of the small bridges depending on which way you travel. ( I grew up in Wallingford.) One of my best friends in high school lived right on Hemlock..

I'm thinking of heading over in a bit.
Let me know if you have intentions on riding today.

It worked, I can see your ride..
You know that you are able to cross the creek it's only 6-8" deep. I see you went around it both heading to smedley and when you returned..

Even this time of year I cross it, it's not to bad

Sounds good. I have a black dodge 1500. I park at the end of field house lane in front of the indoor squash courts. ( I never knew what the building was. I just checked out the google map).

    Smedley is trashed

County is tearing down the Smedley ramps and trails.
    Right now!!
    Spread the word.
    This is unfortunate but true

    county tearing down trails?

Do you mean that they are closing the trails to biking? If so, have they posted signs or notified the public?

I don't think they are shutting it down, I just think that they are back there leveling all the ramps and anything deemed dangerous..
    Sad day for Smedley,

    Update

    All,
We did a ride thru yesterday.. How could you not, it was perfect weather for a ride..
The corkscrew is demolished and so are the ramps at the pine ridge trailhead..
But that is it, the dozer seemed to stop their,
The TRAILS beyond were untouched, it's an easy walk/ride.
Wanted to throw this out there for those who once enjoyed these parts.

I went out Saturday afternoon. It's shocking to see the devastation @ pine ridge. Really sad, but at least they haven't killed all of it. yet.

it depends on where you want to start. you could pick the trail up behind swarthmore, but the trail is rocky, rooty and quite technical, which could be fun or not, depending on your skill level. The bulk of the singletrack is in Smedley park. there are some wicked climbs, treacherously rooty sections and areas with great flow. you've gotta dig around to find the trails, they're not marked & it's not quite obvious that they're there.

Yea that is what I'm used to riding. Belmont to camelback to wisk, I ride everywhere. I just never knew there was a trail behind swarthmore. I'll check it out soon.

do some exploring on strava to find the trail. to connect from Swarthmore to Smedley, you need to cross a road & bridge to the other side of Crum Creek.

I might be down if it doesn't rain too much. Otherwise, I'm going to the Endurance Sports Expo in Oaks, instead.

I thought I had already posted this, uncertain if anybody has been back on the pine ridge, they finally demolished the remaining jumps.... happened about 3 weeks ago..
Actually in my opinion, it's more dangerous with the way they left it then when it was maintained by the riders...
