SE PA Trail Information Master Thread
As suggested, here is what I compiled quickly, so that others that need trail info can know where to look and who to ask. Please feel free to add other trail systems that I have forgotten. Additionally, I can add trail info to this post if requested. Please note that some of the "conditions" threads don't exist or don't really mention conditions at first, but hopefully they will be updated as needed.
There is no need to post actual trail conditions or reviews in this thread, as it will become much too cumbersome to use. I will see about getting this thread stickied.

Roy
I will be the first to say: "AWESOME"
I commend you!
I vote for STICKY
I have emailed my support
Hi Greg
I support the SEPA master thread that RoyDean has posted as I always dreamed we could have a sticky for each corner of our state. I hope you will consider this for a sticky as it will help lots of people looking for info. I know our NEPMTBA sticky has greatly made finding info much easier for people without have to hit "Search" and looking through many posts.
Thanks for MTBR and all you do to make our world better

Roy....email to Gregg Kato for the stickie info. He's receptive to the idea of thread stickies & I've conversed with him a few times.. Fair Guy.

I also think this should be a Sticky. I could have really used it in May/June when we were planning our move from Texas.
Related to this, but not limited to PA, is a Google map I made of East Coast Gravity Riding, which I am planning on maintaining/expanding as I learn more locations, etc.

Great info, man! Gets my vote for a sticky. I am originally from the Lehigh Valley and was wondering if there was life for anyone other than a roadie down there! Thank You!!!

I am going to visit family for the holidays and was searching for riding areas. My family lives in the Breinigsville and New Triploli areas. I have tried searching, but could not find anything closer than Emmaus. Is there anything out there? Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!

Emmaus is the closest trailsytem to Breiningsville, but there is active building going on at the Trexler Nature Preserve in Schnecksville. The trailsystem isn't done yet, but that place has the potential to become the next Raystown style area in PA. Details are on bikevmb.com. If you are going to drive to the trails I would recommend checking out Sals before Emmaus. There is more legal riding there and the flow is better.

I never knew the game preserve had trails, that is cool! I haven't been there since I was a little kid. I will go and check out that website...thanks for the info. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Know the intention is for "SE" Pa but since White Clay, DE is mentioned how 'bout adding Fairhill, MD to it? Only a couple of miles apart and SO many SE Pa riders visit it.
Just a thought.
Thanks!
Great idea to "Sticky" this thread. Thanks for taking the time to collect all of the info. and post!

hey I'm new to biking and I was wondering if you guys have group meet ups where you all go biking together?
-
Betzwood does have some trails where biking is allowed. Basically if you stay out of the main park area you'll be fine. You can start from the "River Trail" lot on Pawlings Road, or the old Betzwood bridge.
On the south side of the river you basically want to hug the bank (though there is one section that is really bad - note where this route crosses the railroad tracks - if you don't come up from the river there, it gets pretty unrideable for a mile or so (until you get to Valley Creek). I think the spot where the route goes farthest from the river on the south side is a path around a somewhat steep ravine - it seems a bit unsafe and not at all fun on my rigid singlespeed, but YMMV.
Yeah I only carry cans cause I'm a weight weenie.

Wait! Why are the South Mountain trails "Politically Incorrect to post about"?
I'm a Lehigh Alumni and I'm just confused. I used to see people on the trails all the time. I'm only 4 years out, so I can't see it having changed much.

First time on a bike since 2005 today. Hit Pennypack trail with my new bike and was very surprised at how nice the park was. I remember years ago it was dirty. It's a good trail for locals

The 'official officialness' from Lehigh U as I last understood it was that the property owned by Lehigh U is open for the use of students, staff, and the surrounding community. That said, they have no desire for the property to become a 'destination' so they allow the use based on the idea that the trails are not advertised as a 'destination.' Its basically a 'we will let you be out there as long as it doesn't become a nuisance for LU' kind of arrangement, so encouraging the world at large to come out and ride really isn't in the best interest of LU or the local riding community.

Hey guys, I am going to be in West Chester at the BikeLine shop on Saturday and was wondering if there were any local trails you could point me to.
I'm not at all familiar with the area and looking for single track. Marsh Creek State Park?

Marsh Creek and Harmony Hill would be close. The address for the Skelp Level Road parking lot at Harmony Hill is 1200 Skelp Level Road. For Marsh Creek you'd want to park at the West Boat Launch. However, I would guess that both sets of trails will be a muddy wreck on Saturday unless they are frozen.

Damn, we haven't gotten soaked yet here in Philadelphia, I didn't even think about it. I don't ride soft trails. I'll keep an eye on the weather report.
Do these trail systems have a status page like White Clay or Wiss?

Worth adding as destinations:
Central PA -- Allegrippis Trails at Raystown Lake. Delicious dirt roller coaster. Camping right there.
Pittsburgh -- Frick Park. 20 miles of surprisingly technical riding in the city

Does anyone have any info on downhill/free ride/all mountain? I go to college in Lock Haven so I'm just about dead center of the state. My bike is a DH bike so climbing is totally out of the question. I already know about 7 springs and blue mtn, I;m looking for natural trails or built trails. Any help is appreciated!
