    Sat was Diablo Day again

Chriffer and I met Nankerphelge and Mini Rock Hound out at Diablo for a day of fun in the ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY perfect weather.

There were many rocks bombed, jumps jumped, walls ridden, and drops dropped.

These are stupid ride profile graphs, but I never tire of earning them. ;^)

There was one major wipeout, but our wipeout specialist, on his biggest obstacle hit yet - can you guess which one?

Personally, I think he needs to check his rear shock pressure more often.

The trails were in fantastic, fast, and flowy shape

I managed to properly exercise my two week old freshly rebuilt FS bike, using all of the availble 7+ inches of suspenson travel, repeatedly.

And I'm pretty sure that Nankerphelge managed to exercise his fully to the limit

(Nank, if you want stills from this they're over here)

We did manage to find some trail that even with the new fully stuff on our bikes neither Chriffer nor I could find the nads to roll down (mid-way down trail BMW for those who don't know, I think it's the toughest section on the hill).

It was completely CHEATING and just SILLY FUN and I am un-repentant!

Driving home was even pleasant, with the technicolor foliage popping all around.

    Thanks all!

Special thanks to the Danville Duo for sharing their lunchtime hoagie, major lack of resources on my part and that was hugely appreciated. :^)

Closing, I tried, and don't think I missed hitting much on the mountain, but did miss a couple. Wondering if I'll be making it over again this year or not. We'll see.

I had a great time and it was good to see you guys. Chriffer, I hope you're not too sore from your payment of the flesh tax. You're a bigger man than me. I think my day woulda been done after that one. I'd like to hit it again at least one more time this year but no guarantees. I'll paste the pics and vids together to music when I get a chance but until then here's some pix:

Nank, is that frame of me on the wall from a video - or is there a high-res version I can get from you? Good stuff though, very tasty stuff.

That Transition Syren was one hawt bike! It had a big sister too - wish I'd gotten a shot of that V-Tach - not as colorful but a sweet ride. ;^)

It's from when my camera was set to contiuous burst which only shoots @ 4 megapixels so that's as good as it gets. PM me your e-mail though so I can send them all to you and you can string them together.

Alternative sequence-shot combined of the top wall on Alpine trail, loads-o-fun, little surprised I "ate" so much of the wall. ;^)

    Thanks for the pics Nank!

whoever has the giant reign in these pictures how does that frame handle up at diablo. I have an 09 and im putting a fox 36 fork on the front and maybe a coil shock and was woundering how it would handle up there?

Other than the "Phantom Incident" he seemed to do okay on it.

That was Chriffer on the Reign. He has recently gotten the XFusion Vengence HLR fork on it and has really liked what it did for the bike.

Although I think he had his rear-shock at too-low PSI (see pic above) I know he was happy with how the setup worked both at Diablo and out at Blue Mountain (more DH less FR).

I think it's a pretty lightweight machine though, so long term durability would be my only question. Check in with that end of next year as I'm pretty sure Chriffer got a season pass to Blue Mountain so his may see a lot more DH in '11. ;^)
