    Salisbury 10/9 ride

If anyone is interested in tagging along on what should be a super mellow paced ride (my buddy hasn't touched his bike in a looooong time) out at Salisbury you are more than welcome to join in.

I'm visiting from Arizona and this will be my first taste of these trails, I wasn't into mountain biking before leaving the Lehigh Valley many years ago and now I want to see what my hometown has to offer.

Right now it looks like we'll be starting at Dodson St. Park around 10am-ish. I have to pick up a bike from another friend first. Feel free to shoot me a text if you plan on coming out: 48zero.2zero3.18zero4

Once again, this will be a slow ride with quite a bit of stopping I'm sure.

    Cheers!
    -John

When your done riding at Sals head on down to Nockamixon and check out the trails there. 1/2 hour south on 412. Info can be found in the Nockamixon threads or at bikevmb.com

Thanks for the info Kool, I saw the thread on the Grand opening down there the same day. Is it true that Nockamixon is generally flat and Sals has some climbing? I'd love to go to both, but I'm a bit time constricted & I have to borrow a bike!! I think my next trip back to the Valley will be a bit more mtb related.

Hey Free, I can't speak for Nock, but I just got back from Sals and can tell you that it definitely has some climbing - a lot of ups and downs. Also, it is very rocky at times, so be sure to take a spare if you ride there. It also gets technical in some parts (mostly due to the rocky terrain), but overall it's a great set of trails. You should def ride counter clock-wise though.

They are both great trails. I love sals, and Nockamixon. Sals defiantly has more climbing and rocks, Nockamixon is geared more to the beginner/intermediate level although experienced riders love it too you have to go fast.

Free, It's a once in a lifetime event, you could tell everyone you flew in from AZ to attend the grand opening of the trails.
There will be some demo bikes if you need a ride. I might be able to hook you up, let me know.

Sweet, climbing & rocks, I'll feel right at home in Phoenix!! If I can convince the wife, perhaps we'll make the jaunt down to NM as well, but I wouldn't put money on it. Thanks again for all the info.

If anyone ever ventures out to the southwest, hit me up for a guided tour of all the goodness.

Edit: One of two things will happen, my riding buddy may have to bail due to kids' baseball tourney. If that happens I've convinced my wife to tag along down to the Nockamixon grand opening, with the hopes that she'll be able to demo a bike and have some fun on the trails. If my buddy's kids don't advance today, then the original plans are a go to ride Sals. Either way, I'm hitting some PA dirt.

Either way you will have fun. If you going to demo a bike I recommend getting there early.

Just wanted to say that the trails out at Sals were a blast! I could have spent the whole day out there messing around. Just enough tech to keep you on your toes, great cut-in lines and a few hills to keep it interesting. Sorry, but I could only let you 'borrow' our AZ weather for a few days, I had to take it back with me for the 'real riding season' in the desert. (alot of PHX based riders take the summer off, tsk, tsk) Again, thatnks for all the suggestions, great work out there and hopefully next time I can sample some more great trails in the area.
