Roaring Creek With Mini & The Boy

I've been gearing my son up trying to get him in shape for a long weekend ride without holding everyone up. He's been riding strong so I figured Saturday morning would be his first shot. He, Mini and I headed over to Roaring Creek. The weather couldn't have been any more perfect and he rode like a champ. We did three hours plus with some of the more techy trails and he didn't have any problems. I couldn't be prouder.

Some how I didn't see your cars at the bottom,so I rode the top pipeline from 42 side to 54 side. Down old natalie miners path to the 8 mile. Wow what a blast. Then I climbed the pump house trail for the last leg. Thought I was crazy but it wasn't that bad. Since I had no one to take pix of heres some of my bike. Glad to see Jays doing so good.

That's cool stuff. Brings back memories of when my kid used to ride with me before he got a job, a girl and a truck. Enjoy it while it last, they grow up quick. Funny part is my son went on a ride with me last week and even though he doesn't ride hardly at all anymore he still has way better tech skills than dad.

Another cool thing is I had my second ride up there today and can finally recognize most of the pictures. I started at the upper lot on 42 did the new short loop on the west side of 42 then headed out the Ridge trail, down Natalie Miners Trail #1 east then back the dirt road till the bridge and the nice singletrack section around the big lake, then across 42 at the bottom on the Headwaters trail all the way back up to Big Mountain Trail and then back to the start. What a cool ride. I marked some side trails in my head that need exploring, but this loop makes for a nice ride with varied terrain.
