Fun will continue this Wednesday night 5/30/12 at da mOOn
Meet at da Main Gate, 6 PM
Welcome newest member "Barney" Buddy's little brother!
He prolly won't be in attendance for awhile as he has been sent out for suspension modifications and power upgrades, but soon enough he will be ripping right along and getting lots of snacks!
I'll be riding there 2 saturday's from now with my better half. What would be a good 10-12 mile sequence of trails there?
I rode there a few years back and by the looks of the map, did 5858 and maybe hit flume, maybe missed it and wound up all the way down by the resevoir on the opposite side of 29 and had a burly hike-a-bike back up to Moon Lake Park, then hit t-rex and screamer.
I'd like to avoid dragging wifey on a hike-a-bike. The revised map looks pretty good.

If you have the map start at Main Gate head out Thorny, Big Blue, 5 Tree, Moto, Burts, Nitemare to (Nature Center) down Buddys, Twister, hard left onto Slide(down) to(Traffic circle), Dark, up Screamer(to campground paved road to)T-Rex2 to end, right up dirt road to the water tanks(highest point) then head down NFS, up Flume, 5858 and back at Deacon which you could ride or head back out Nauture's Way 1 should be tired by then!... LOL
Hike a bike? well?.... prolly, but lots of fun in between!

Hello neighbor!
Rides from the Bat Cave leave at 6 PM most weekdays, where we end up is a total mystery, and they vary in distance, danger, and place, riding the train bridge is awesome, only a 50 foot drop to rocks or little water unless you fall over the channel... LOL
Super night to ride, welcome to new guy pedalpusher from Chicago, via Lewisburg, good to see Rob C, the BMX kid and his friend, the guy with the 3 Go Pros... LOL, sorry I forgot your name, and Damian? Help me guys as names escape me! Well, any way, lots of talented riders having a blast, as everyone rode what they liked and split up a few times hitting different trails!
Good to see Kuhlkat earlier in the day!
Motoman, good to hear you'll be riding with us!
bear, NICE FREEK'IN BIKE, best of luck with it!
Haven't seen Rich Adams in a while
Dave & Amy, Glenn, Bill, Chuck Cam, Ron, Jon S.
If I missed ya, shout out!
Great stuff guys!
Ride da mOOn
See ya all next week
It was a great afternoon ... i got out early and hit a bunch o-the trails ... was surprised I ran into nobody at all on the trail considering how many cars were out the front gate when I got back!
Now if I could just get my lazy-butt rear tire to quit slipping sideways when wet and muddy it's be grreat - more than a couple near-hits vs tree!
Always fun when you slip on a root and unexpectedly dart towards a tree...that happened to me a few times yesterday!!! What a fantastic day to be at the Moon and riding with friends!!! I am so glad I took a mental health day yesterday...thanks to everyone for making the ride so awesome!!!

Reason: Forgot Photos
Felt great the first half hour, then kind of took it easy the next one, and the last hour I felt great again.
Made the rock stairs in T-Rex 2 again, even with a peddle strike, surprised myself, I got it now!

...lots and lots of very talented riders visited the mOOn tonight again as well as some new riders! It is always nice to meet new riders and share stories with the regulars on rides.
I gotta compliment all of you...
...you make Ride da mOOn, SUPER FUN!
I'm a bit sad to see Chicago guy and his wife going back to Chicago, but it is for the best as it will benefit them in their future. I won't say "Good Bye" rather "See ya later" Thanks for riding with us!
And also the same to California guy who went back this week!
Looks like a great night. Rode dirt bikes last night and the trails were perfect and the temps were fantastic. Looks like a streat bike ride, motorcycle, mt bike ride tomorrow and we have to see what the weekend brings. Maybe a road ride, street bike ride, mt bike ride and a dirt bike ride. That sounds like a plan
Friday evening at hcga there was a black and blue helmet left in the grass by my car if anyone knows who it belongs too let me know so i can get it back to them. Lee said it looked like shannons? But i don't know how to get in touch with her.

...a bit cooler and hoping to get that "return on the 8 trail" included again in this weeks ride. If I can get there a bit early I'll do a walk through and do some smooth/flow work on "8"
Meet at Main Gate, 6PM, ride leaves at 6:15
Had we been riding da mOOn 100 years ago we probably would have been on this great bike or something similar, fixed singlespeed gear rigid, just thought you might like to look at it and think how different times were, yet the same!...LOL
Change the fork and handlebar on that bike and you would feel right at home on it Lee

...the Big Ride half loop contains lots of super rocky climbing, on the highest skills required trails mOOn has to offer, NFS, 5858, Salamander, and Deacon, but everyone stepped up and showed the rocks who's boss!
Thanks to ltfubar and Matt(name correct?) coming quite a long way to join us, really great riders with lots of skills, hats off to you guys... Nice rid'in!
Moto, I didn't get to talk to ya, but hope all was well.
Glenn, sorry we got crossed up on trails tonight, after we headed all the way down NFS, we needed Chriffer to fly back up to get ya, but he wasn't with us... LOL
The girls group was awesome, pretty fast highly skills chicks there we have... Nice job ladies! You are champs! Joan told me she made a tight switchback rockover section of 5858 she never made before, Woo Hoo!
Of course our local crew that has grown so much now!

BG69, you would have liked it, but we will do it again I'm sure!
Thanks to all for joining in you all make it fun!
Ride da What?
...and I think we all deserve a nice cruise around da Moon since we battled all the Rocks, Roots and Challenging Sections, Saturday so...
... how about a nice easier ride tonight! Kinda Ol'schooler, the way we use to ride da mOOn before all the "free reign" trails were built, professionally that is of course. Thanks to Clif with one "F" for Free Reign... LOL
Meet at da main Gate, 6 PM, Ride leaves at 6:15PM sharp,
NW1, NW2, What, NW2, NW1, SR2(or throw in T-Rex 2 if ya like), Screamer, Dark, Watkins, Marina(doggies get drinks)SR1 to Deacon picnic table, hang out and enjoy each others company and cooling drinks. That is ride anyone could enjoy!
Then simple picnic? Fire up the Deacon grill with hotdogs, buns, mustard?
Missed the group ride by 10 minutes! No worries!!! Hit some of my favorite trails . Still nursing the injury to my sternum....Looks like the turn out for th ride was great. Awesome!!!! Beautiful night to ride the Moon......Live Love Ride!!!!!!"
...started out with a big group, broke off into smaller groups, had a ball.
"WARNING"
There are Yellow Jacket Bees on Decaon trail, entering from the Deacon trials area the first tight 180 turn. They are low in the ground. I stopped and put 4 rocks in a row across the turn. Just short cut right before this turn for now! Please pass this on!
The group I was in, the ride was a good mix of roaming around, had fun, hung out after, thanks to Justin for the Gatoraid...
Meet at da Main Gate, 6 PM, ride leaves at 6:15 sharp
This Friday 8/17/12 I have a few Moto friends stopping by to Ride da mOOn on their way to the AMA Unadilla National MX this weekend, everyone is welcome to join us for this ride!
Probably exit 164 for hwy 29,
Stay on 29 across river, go left towards Nanticoke/Betwick on Rt 11,
Just after bridge in Nanticoke turn right at stoplight to stay on Hwy 29,
4~5 miles later turn left at White Oaks/Hartman/Atheron (there is a big park sign on the right PRECISELY at the intersection, not much warning),
Stay left at Y onto Atherton,
About 1m later you are at the entrance.
Park on side of road outside the park for evening rides - gate locks ~8 I think.
