RE: Nockamixon parking lot @ boat launch

How safe do you think leaving an and old mountain bike and then an old road bike locked up on a bike rack is at this lot?

I was thinking of doing a road ride around the lake and then hopping on the singlespeed for a lap around the trails and would be leaving a bike unattended for a couple hours.

Is this lot pretty busy and safe?

If your concerned, you could park at the park office it's 3-4 miles from the boat launch. The boat launch can get busy but is empty at times.

Cool, thanks for the suggestion. I haven't been to the boat launch lot yet, just trying to get a feel of how "safe" it was. I'll scope it out.

I prefer to park on Northwestern Ave near the stables or Pachella Field at the Wiss. I can't believe breakins occur in such a busy area/lot near the Inn. The bad guys are bold down there.

It was two ladies breaking into cars, at the Tower rd lot, along South Park road and they broke into the park maintenance building. One of the other trail builders saw the suspicious vehicle on South Park, turned around got the license plate # then called me. It was a Sunday and the park offices are closed but I have the park managers cell #, I called him gave him the plate # let him know they were headed towards the trail head and they caught them in the Tower road parking lot. They admitted to 12 break-in including the maintenance building.
