    PA Loses more Bike Jobs

Dorel restructures bike business | Bicycle Retailer and Industry News

Looks like Corporate restructuring will effect more people in Pennsylvania. Cannondale will be leaving Bedford.

    A shame, a tragedy, a ****ing crime.

We have such a great state for cycling, it would be nice if we had one big company here to at least push for a better tomorrow. But it looks like the bottom line is bigger concern....I think these companies lost their way long long ago.

    A shame, really.

In a statement the company said it will “leverage the strength and capabilities of its global resources, third-party partners and existing facilities.”

When I was 14, my first "real" bike was a '94 Cannondale F400. I chose it largely because I live in PA and I thought it was awesome knowing my frame was made in PA. Sigh.

On a positive note.... QBP came TO PA. Created a lot of jobs. ALready offering $ for local trail projects.
(Not trying to take away from the OP and that it does stink that C'dale is leaving... Just throwing out some bike positive vibes.)

True! Aside from the local economy boost, I freaking love that most stuff I order thru my LBS from QBP now comes in, like, a day.

I was at the factory the other day. It is almost empty. So sad to see it like that.
