    Nox conditions?

In the area for a few days. I imagine it is fairly sloppy.

Per Kenny: "The Mountain bike trails at Nockamixon are unofficially CLOSED for mountain biking. It's going to be a sloppy mess if people ride during this brief warm up. The paved bike trail and the closed roads near the marina are open for biking, hiking etc. if you need to get outdoors."

This is not the weekend for mountain biking. No trail is going to be ridable. Well, actually, paved trails will be, but that is it. Will be after christmas until the trails are frozen enough to ride.
On MTBR, the reputation is infamous.

I might go slug it out at Blue Marsh Lake on the fatbike tomorrow. Less footprint than walking, but that could be my fatbike smugness talking

Anyone ride Nox lately? Wiss has been rideable for the last several weekends, but those trails see more traffic. Planning to ride Nox tomorrow before the precip starts.

Well, if anyone cares, Nox sucks right now. No bikes out there at all to create a trail. Guess it's wiss for the rest of the winter.

Planning to drive the 1.5 hours to Nockamixon tomorrow morning (Sat, Aug 5).
    Any updates on trail conditions?

Nothing on Facebook 'rideknox' about trail closure, last 7 days rain total is minimal and temps have been warm with plenty of sun, so I'd hit it, FWIW.

I was there a couple weeks ago and it was in great shape. The Rideknox gang has been killing it on maintenance, hugs props to them.

I haven't looked at rain forecast.

    Thanks for the heads up.
Forecast states a chance of brief thunderstorms early in the morning; clearing up as the day progresses.

Nox is solid. Rain coming in tonight will wet it down again. Tomorrow it will be wet and slick but the surface is so hard it isn't being rutted.

My brother, who was working in Philly night shift/road construction stopped by in the morning (6 am). He said the parking lot was full of puddles and the trails were wet.
Don't want to take a chance of messing up the trails.
I'm gonna just ride Trexler. I know that place drains fast.

It's fine. Couple of wet spots but nothing damaging, just messy.

Still hard surface, but slick and wet. Tree down on South Park unless the crew got to it already.

Clayslinger, are the trails too 'slick and wet' to ride? Or are they still rideable without concern about damaging the trail.

I'm planning on riding there tomorrow.

    Thanks!!

It's rock solid, no worries about hurting anything.

Tree there was removed by late Friday afternoon.
