    5th Annual Cycle Mania @ Blue Marsh

    Please come and support Wood-to-Wonderful, a Reading, PA, non-profit that helps inner-city youth through their mountain bike team as well as many other activities.

    This is a great chance for 1st time racers. The course is just tough enough to make it challenging but fun for all.

    New this year:
    Addition of a 4-hour Endurance Challenge
    Race will be run clockwise.


    The start/finish line will remain at Sheidy Boat Ramp /
    Route 183 north of Reading.

    Note: All Categories will be monitored and separated or combined based on number of entries.


    Endurance Race - 4 hours
    Elite/Expert - 3 laps
    Sport - 2 laps
    Beginner - 1 lap

    Prizes

    Elite/Expert: 1st: $150 / 2nd: $100 / 3rd: $75

    Cash prizes for the 3 best times in Elite/Expert Class
    Sport and Beginner: Merchandise

    Metals: Top 3 per class



    Course is 7-mile single track, northern Blue Marsh Lake loop, runs clockwise


    On-Line Registration is open now and will close at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13.

    Day-of race registration will be $10 more.



    Wood-to-Wonderful is a 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds from this race will be used to support Wood-to-Wonderful's Reading Pedal-ers junior mountain bike team whose members will be at the October 14 race. We hope everyone will come out to race and also meet these Reading children.

    Doesn't this course include the "ski slope" section on the west side of the loop?
    If so, first time racers are in for a treat!

    What the hell, I'm giving it a shot. I haven't raced since the early nineties, should be interesting. I'm now in the age bracket my dad was in when I raced back in the day. I've been riding 60-80 miles a week since April so hopefully I won't come in last. I was going to ride Blue Marsh last weekend but ended up working so this seems like as good of a time as any.

    - minus: the pretty side of the lake is on the other loop

    - plus: you get to go up and down the hill by the "ski" slope multiple times
