Looking for used FS bike in Pittsburgh area

    Hi guys,

I've got a friend who is looking for a full suspension bike in the Pittsburgh area. Looking for something with an LX/XT build and around $1000, so it's probably going to be a few years old. He's about 6', so mostly likely a large frame. Anyone got any leads?

Since I'm not familiar with the area, how are 29" bikes for the terrain about Pittsburgh?

    Thanks,
    Dave

29ers are becoming very popular in the Pgh area, they are nearly ideal for the SW PA terrain. Your friend should also consider getting a 29" hardtail. Check out http://ibexbikes.com/ and http://www.rscycle.com/, both of these companies have some nicely equipped rigs in the $1000 range.

Sweet. Thanks for the links. I like the Iron Horse bikes cuz of the dw-link, so that is very appealing.

What is the Pgh area like? Hilly, rocky, roots...?

if he's still looking tell him to stop into thick bikes on the southside. they have an 05/06{not sure) mountaincycle fury frame and shock that i'm pretty sure is for sale (was my buddy's but it was a bit too tall for him) at a reasonable price.
