    Idea! Ice is NICE!

    Our racer friend... Buzzy...

... sent me a pic to remind everyone ice is a com'in!

So it's time to "SCREW UP" or "STUD UP" Weather it be Moto or MTB don't let winters coldness get ya down. Dress warm and enjoy trails that are really "HARD" and free of "BUGS"

Don't forget XC skiing at the mOOn, as we have great trails for that too!!!!!

Great place to get XC skis and downhill too

    Ice is NICE!

UNCLE BUZZY IS DA BESS, UNCLE BUZZY IS DA BESS....LMAO!

That does look like a whole lotta fun! Maybe I can screw up(not that way)some knobs for the IT and go shred some ice. I remember seeing a cover of Dirt Bike Magazine showing the Russians ice racing....they were leaned over so far they were dragging knees! Unbelievable!

    Good job!

    BDT:

Ya, I remember them they used "spikes" that were illegal in the US.

Well with the new XC ski trails NEPMTBA is are building at mOOn lake I figured it was time for a post about snow & ice!

I think I told you Buzzy has ridden o the frozen pond with Doug Henry when Doug was healthy and able! Imagine seeing the factory Yamaha rig pull up to a pond in the middle of nowhere! Like when Chris Maris came to Twin Creeks MX complex in Lawton, Pa

Last night was round one of the East Coast Indoor Speedway Ice Championships! Gotta check results later. I wonder if Jason won?

But, you could wait till it freezes and tell him to take the backhoe out on the lake and dig a hole for the ice fishermen!

Is anyone running Studded tires? Screws? Patterns?

Looks like I'm going to "Screw Up" tonight both MTB & Moto.

I have Continental Spike Claw 120's, which I'm trying to figure out where to get more studs to turn them into 240's. I would have chose Nokians as I rock their winter tires on my cars, but my LBS had a set of the Continentals that they couldn't sell so I bought em for cheap.

They definitely make winter riding more fun, that's for sure.

I wonder if an auto tire shop would have extra studs you could buy, of course you would need the stud gun also!. You could rent a stud gun for about 35 bucks! Studs are expensive hence why the tire cost so much then you will need an acid to clean the studs and the Locktite compound to glue the studs in.. wheew

Motoman465: Any info on this, your a tire guy?

Do you ride trails with the Conti's?

Agreed, the Nokians are the fluff for autos!

Yes, I agree about the Nokians. When I bought my Silverado it had Nokian Vatiivas on it. These tires are amazing!!! Nokians are made in Finland, the Nokian factory is the northernmost tire factory in the world so they know something about winter handling!!!

Automotive studs would be alot more work to install and I am not certain they would work anyway. Auto tires are cast with the holes for the studs, but the holes must be lubed and the studs inserted with a special pneumatic gun.

It will be easier, quicker, and in my opinion give better traction to just use the sheet metal screws.
Waging war on my pedals every chance I get!!!

No, Moon Lake has lot's of fields to ski, and a few narrower grass trials.

    Thanks
